On Wednesday, a Mexican flag meant to celebrate Cinco de Mayo went missing from Klein Collins High School in Spring. Administrators later learned a student tore it down and threw it in the trash.
Then sophomore Nick Morris went on a local conservative talk radio show to complain he had been suspended.
Now, the boy's interview with KTRH host Michael Berry has gone viral and inflamed conservatives. Frazzled high school administrators are struggling to keep up with an onslaught of angry e-mails and phone calls complaining that the school is partial to Mexico.

the flag in question is someone's private property. To contend otherwise is foolish. I view the flag in question to be offensive grafitti.
So it's not stealing if he thew it away?
No. More like grafitti clean up.
Ok, so you don't support Ordered Liberty, Rule of Law or Private Property
And the little cholo who hung the Mexican rag up there?
What did he support?
That's ok, you can change back to supporting them when someone steals something you like.
They are free to attempt it.
We have very specific laws in Texas regarding that.

No place in US taxpayer supported Public schools for display of one other countries flag.
I tend to agree. But have to consider this display fairly harmless. In any event, taxpayer money is used for things we disagree with all the time - But the recourse is not through theft, it's by addressing those responsible for making the decisions.
And of course if civil disobedience is used, the civil disobedient should expect to receive some sanction.
"Would you hang the flag from another high school during football season there?"
See, here's where there's a problem. Mexico is a neighboring state, not an opponent. People of Mexican descent are as varied and unique as people of anglo and african descent. While undoubtedly some resist assimilation, I deal with Mexican engineers, lawyers, teachers, and other professionals that are as American as I am. Citing the analogy of an opposing football team is divisive.
I own a construction company in central texas. I know a lot of Mexicans. I don't consider them opponents. When I'm near the border I'm always treated well by the near 100% Mexican population. In general, Mexicans and Anglos have lived in relative harmony in the southwest for decades.
I also know a number of conservative Mexicans, lets not define people in demographic terms, we can leave that to the left.

How on earth has Mexico gotten by without collapsing? Mexico is a failed (collapsed) state for a long time already. That's how we classify countries whose governments exist but are not in control. And the Mexican government is clearly not in control of most things, crime and border security to name a few.

What we don't support is school sponsored, anti-American, political statements paid for with American tax-payer funds in a public institution intended for the education of American tax-payer's children.
The boy is a hero to anyone who believes in national sovereignty, secure borders and limited legal immigration.

I guess you proved my point.
And the little cholo who hung the Mexican rag up there? What did he support?
ummm. you have specific knowledge that the hanger of the flag was little, a male, and a cholo? I thought it was reported that it was part of the school authorized Cinco de Mayo decoration, and quite possibly was hung by anyone - maybe even a large white woman - but I'll yield to your specific knowledge of the little male cholo. In direct answer to the question though, the support was for Cinco de Mayo, which I guess means that the little cholo supported selling mexican branded beer to Americans
We have very specific laws in Texas regarding that.
Yes don't we. I'm sure you'd be the first one to jump to the defense of the little cholo who wasted the person who stole his flag.

Of which it was none of the above.

To me he's a mischievous petty thief that's crying to his helicopter mom about getting caught. I bet she fell for "I was taking the cookie for you Mom" when he was a kid. And since I do believe in national sovereignty, secure borders, and limited legal immigration - I can categorically say your above statement is false.

Hey, humblegunner ...
I just clicked on your link to send you a message that I think we’ve both made our point and the little insults were getting to be a waste of bandwidth. Your account came up as suspended.
Hope it didn’t have anything to do with this thread - and I sure didn’t do any complaining.
If it means anything to anyone, I think your account should be re-instated. Open discussion beats censorship every time. Hope to see you back soon.
(Of course I still think I’m right and you’re wrong)

Thank you for posting the actual photo for this incident. It is infuriating when people insist on exagerrating or adding false info. I think this is often done by the opposition to undermine our position.

It seems interesting that KISD is targeting one persons misinformation, Michael Berry/AM 740, as a distraction away from their actions.
Lets review the KISD errors:
- KISD staff approved the prominate display of the Mexican flag in the hallway
- team of 6 staff marched the student down to the principals office (6?)
- per the students mother, there is a hint of extortion ... KISD is demanding the student pay a third party for the mexican flag
- KISD hung-up on / would not speak with the students mother early in the event ... and did not take parental objections into account
- the Student and his family are now receiving death and violence threats; there is a portion of blame that KISD must accept for these threats, based on how they treated the parent, how they treated the student, and based on the aggressive PR campaign they are now running
My view - the patriotism of KISD staff is in question, and they showed poor judgement and PC-like behavior. They ignored the majority of tax payers in their district, and embarrassed themselves. Effectively, they have spit on the American Flag.
There are reasons why we only fly the American flag inside and outside schools; the blood of our patriots and the blessings of God allowed this school to even exist - and for another nations flag to be openly and brazenly displayed is an affront to these American Patriots
