"‘Stocking up’ does not make one an “nut”"

That kind of depends on what you are stocking up for. When you start resembling Charles Manson and his followers (doubtless you are more groomed and less psychotic) stocking up for the social chaos of "Helter Skelter" you can pretty much be labeled a nut.

I agree. Stocking up on foodstuffs and paper items (toilet paper, sanitary stuff) that you know will cost more tomorrow than it does today only makes sense.

Anyone that has a savings account at the bank is pretty much “stocking up” for hard times. A Life Insurance policy is the same thing. Filling up your gas tank when prices are low and expected to go higher is only common sense.

Spending thousands of dollars on a truckload of AK-47’s or 10,000 rolls of toilet paper that you have to add a room on to your house to store is a little weird. Especially if your kid needs braces or you need a brake job on your car. Moderation and good old common sense prevails.

It still doesn’t hurt to have a well-filled pantry and a couple extra cans of gas for your generator when the power goes out.

If having some gold and silver coins at your ready makes a person feel safer if and when TSHTF I don’t see the problem.

Agree or disagree?
