As Greece falls apart due to its nanny government society some are asking....can it happen here?
Greece's fiscal crisis took a new turn to violence Wednesday when three people died in a firebomb attack amid a paralyzing national strike, while governments from Spain to the U.S. took steps to prevent the widening financial damage from hitting their own economies.~~~Greece's 24-hour nationwide general strike brought much of the country to a standstill, closing government offices and halting flights, trains and ferries.
At the same time, tens of thousands of protesters marched through Athens in the largest and most violent protests since the country's budget crisis began last fall. Angry youths rampaged through the center of Athens, torching several businesses and vehicles and smashing shop windows. Protesters and police clashed in front of parliament and fought running street battles around the city.
Witnesses said hooded protesters smashed the front window of Marfin Bank in central Athens and hurled a Molotov cocktail inside. The three victims died from asphyxiation from smoke inhalation, the Athens coroner's office said. Four others were seriously injured there, fire department officials said.

You heard Stephen Hayes right....the irony is inescapable:

The US would be foolish to think this can't happen here...we have the same force already at work creating riots. Give Obama's policies a little more time to destroy the economy and see what the streets end up looking like.
Hailing Captain Obvious
Its what a good community organizer does.
Maybe it’s what America needs - to let our “leaders” know we are sick of their crap and won’t take it any more.
Riots and violence? Maybe, but I’d say probably not. After L.A., folks in many of the likely conflagration areas have armed themselves to the teeth.
More likely is the ultimate default or repudiation of the debt. That’s where things are headed in Greece and where they’re ultimately headed here.
Will it be open season or will we have to get tags?
24 hour general strike would cause panic in a certain element that is reliant upon outside transportation for food. And many would stock up on widescreen TV’s, just to be on the safe side.
“And many would stock up on widescreen TVs, just to be on the safe side.”
LOL!
Government failure is not pretty, especially when the sheeple can be convinced to blame it all on capitalism.

All of the infrastructure is busily being laid
Unions and commies are much more violent than law abiding citizens.
That Ozombie WANTS to be able to call for marital law...duh!
It will come, have some basics stored.
Sadly, this isn’t just if “Obama & company” have their way. “Bush & company” pushed us in this direction too. And the American people seem to want to have their cake and eat it too—tax cuts and more spending. Unless the people have the will to cut spending and ignore the sob stories about how a spending cut is going to starve Grandma, we will end up there whether a Democrat or Republican is in charge.
Let’s imagine our cities next week if union and govt worker salaries and pensions were slashed 20%, and their healthplans eliminated.
Hello Greece.
This is the result of Ebonomics.
The situation became so bad that armed national guardsmen were stationed at major intersections and patrolled the streets in jeeps.
The point I'm making here is that there is a precedent for such anarchistic behavior here on US soil. I have no doubt that, if the Democrat/Communist policies are perpetuated, we'll be seeing Greece "up close and personal".
You know one of things that gave it away? I saw almost no footage of the pro-illegal riots and protests on TV. When I did see a picture they were throwing bottles at police and the signage was from the communists and the unions...but there wasn't much on TV. If it'd had been peaceful protests the MSM would have plastered it all over as people gently asking to be allowed to be US citizens. But the visual wasn't like that...the real visual was angry mobs carrying communist signs and throwing bottles, shouting and running about rampaging including hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages.
1. De-moralization
2. Destabilization
3. “Normalization”
It is as Antonio Gramsci prescribed. The butterflies-and-rainbows crowd think we’re just going to ‘vote the rascals out’ come November. Think again.
