If I’d been one of those students I’d have refused to leave. Let them arrest me and drag me out of a public school for showing American patriotism. Make sure there’s video first.

What did you do on 5/5 to protest Cinco de Mayo?

I have to admit, listening to the clip of one of the kids (played by Rush Limbaugh) warmed my heart. This was a kid with a white mother and a mexican father, but when he spoke of his American flag attire, his respect sounded sincere.

Kids don't get that from nowhere. If his dad is Mexican, he must be an American first and a Mexican second...or he could have got it from his mom. Either way, it was nice to hear.

I applaud the students for refusing to back down. Like 668, I was the type of teen who would've taken it even further. And often did. That doesn't take away from what these four students did, of course. I don't see 668's statement as taking away from what they did, either. Kudos to them and their parents for refusing to back down and bringing the story to the news.

Imagine, here in 2010, it's now considered offensive to display the U.S. flag. This is how far it has gone.
