Chaz Bono is now a man ... legally and otherwise.

Cher's newly-minted son showed up to court today in Santa Monica, where a judge granted Chaz' petition for a gender and name change.

According to documents filed in March, Chaz underwent an "irreversible surgery" on September 23, 2009 to change his "sex characteristics from female to male."

In the docs, Chaz's doctor said, "Chaz Bono has completed his gender reassignment surgery."

It's like a transgender Bar Mitzvah!

It’s sad to watch someone just destroy themselves and in spite of the obvious psychological pathology I can’t help but think that Chaz’s money and the lack of any ethics by her/his doctors is on full display by this mutilated thing dressed in a man’s suit.

Sad. I think I saw their last concert before they announced their divorce. It was in the Houston Astrodome at the big Rodeo. There was revolving stage set up in the middle of the dome (the acoustics were dreadful) and there was a dressing room in the middle of the stage. Sonny and Cher must have been not on speaking terms because they never appeared on stage together. They kept popping in and out of that dressing room with costume changes, and they didn’t really sing together, either. One would be on stage singing, while the other was changing costume. Then they’d switch places. At the end they brought out Chastity who was about the age as in your picture and they all sang as a family.

It was an OK show, but nothing to write home about. I have to say that they didn’t miss a beat. They announced their separation and their pending divorce about 3 days later.

But for that moment, that night, they appeared to be a wholesome, American family. Chastity was so cute. Sonny was carrying her and he stood her on a stool so that they were all about the same height. She was a little sweetheart.

To think that Sonny Bono fathered that! The girl was so cute when little, and now...well, I don't know what/which sex would find it attractive. Sad. Hollywood is so full of sad, immoral/amoral, misdirected, lives. Don't those people ever look around their environment and wonder -— why are we (they) all so mixed-up and pitiful? Obviously, money and fame has not been the cure for their sorry lifestyles.
