She mentioned a couple of times that The Constitution talks about 'inalienable rights'. Conflating the Constitution with the DOI has to be one of the most irritable trends in contemporary civic life. Most people quote them interchangeably. Anyone else bothered by how common this is?
She talked about both, but Palin trolls are always first to bat.
The good news is that Palin is more or less inoculated against media attacks. The rabid socialists who might talk nice about McCain but wouldn’t vote for him wouldn’t vote for her no matter what, and they are the only ones who even pay attention to the far left media’s attacks on Sarah. Everyone else has pretty much dismissed the media as a bunch of biased hacks so far gone in a feeding frenzy that they have no interest in objectivity. Even if the media had a valid story trashing her, one that exposed a genuine fatal flaw, I doubt that many people outside Obama’s circle of true believers would listen. That means that Sarah has more control over her own message than anyone else we are likely to find (not to mention that what I’ve heard of her message is fabulous).
Yes Palin Troll! My post history certainly indicates a long string of knocking Governor Palin! /sarc
The phrase “Inalienable Rights” is from the Declaration of Independence.
I am bothered by this. I detest imprecision. Let’s make sure her campaign knows it.
Fundamental rights, including the right to practice religion, freedom of speech, due process, and equal protection of the laws, that cannot be transferred to another nor surrendered except by the person possessing them. See Bill of Rights. Palin is right in her useage, your assumption of what she said, that phrase only applies the DOI, is incorrect.
One of the most poignant ironies of our judicial system is that Justice Thomas, who has been widely and cruelly ridiculed as being of substandard legal intellect, is actually one of the most brilliant of our Supreme Court justices, and he is absolutely the truest and soundest constitutionally.
You actually have a problem with that?
What do you think is enumerated in the BOR??
Another one.
That would be "irritating," not "irritable"--when you express peeves and irks caused by others' spoken and written errors, be sure to get your own copy edited.
WHAT IS DOI? This is the last time I am going to ask.
Boehner make the exact same error in a speech before an anti-healthcare tea party. I notice O’Reilly didn’t catch it.
Declaration of Independence.
Good catch!
Thank You, I will calm down now. BTW, the DOI was a fine idea.
Sarah’s commanding the headlines again today.
And John wasn’t as bad a king as Hollywood makes him out. He was an energetic administrator, a good general, an astute diplomat and a hard working and keenly intelligent ruler with a strong sense of justice. He may have been one of the best Plantagenets.
But he was not a happy man. He had an affinity for small, furry rodents—not rats—and gerbils, cavys, hamsters and the like were rare at that time.
So he was pissed off most of the time.
Carly is likely the most electable and senators are elected to 6 year terms.
Could it be that President Palin is trying her best to insure she has a bullet proof US Senate to repeal obamacare, and all his other Marxist legislation?
Meg Whitman said today in San Diego that she would veto an immigration bill like AZ’s. She is toast.
