Palin endorses Fiorina for Senate; stiffs fellow Tea Partier DeVore, disses Campbell
San Fran Chronicle ^ | May 6, 2010 | Joe Garofoli

Here's Palin on Fiorina:

"Please consider that Carly is the conservative who has the potential to beat California's liberal senator, Barbara Boxer, in November. I'm a huge proponent of contested primaries, so I'm glad to see the contest in California's GOP, but I support Carly as she fights through a tough primary against a liberal member of the GOP who seems to bear almost no difference to Boxer, one of the most leftwing members of the Senate. Carly needs our support in this crucial election year when we have a real chance of putting an end to the Pelosi/Reid Big Government" agenda.

Carly's reaction:

"I am honored and grateful to have Sarah Palin's support. She, too, is a political outsider and a strong fiscal conservative, and we share a common concern for the direction our country is headed in under Barbara Boxer and her allies in Washington," Fiorina said.

Fiorina contributed to the McCain/Palin ticket. So I think this is more about gratitude than anything else.

McCain adviser Fiorina: Palin not ready to run a corporation
CNN ^ | September 16, 2008
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2084034/posts

“Well, I don’t think John McCain could run a major corporation, I don’t think Barack Obama could run a major corporation, I don’t think Joe Biden could run a major corporation,” Fiorina said.

“It is a fallacy to suggest that the country is like a company. So, of course, to run a business, you have to have a lifetime of experience in business, but that’s not what Sarah Palin, John McCain, Joe Biden or Barack Obama are doing.”

She seems to be endorsing a lot of RINO candidates.

If the former head of ebay becomes governor, expect new fees and user agreements quarterly...

Palin is trying to get Republicans elected. It's not about who is the better candidate it's about electing Republicans to Sarah.

I had people arguing with me against bouncing Babs with a less than ideal candidate on a thread yesterday. I get that point so to each his own.

Thank you.

That truism is so often lost here.

Well, her endorsement of John McCain was for obvious reasons. I do think she values loyalty and is grateful person. I don’t find these to be faults of hers. They are admirable qualities.

It’d be nice to some day see if she’s actually endorsed any conservatives.

I don’t mind Palin’s message and think she has weathered a lot of very trying and unjust criticism and personal attacks. I don’t think she is a bad candidate because she is a “polarizing figure”, but... her track record of endorsements and some of the people she joined in speaking tours (I don’t care about the money, it’s the same weak on conservative ideology Republicans who run in the circles of those she’s endorsed) are what are offputting to me.

So where IS the conservative dark horse candidate who will break through the pack this next go round? in 2008 hopes were placed on Tancredo and Hunter and the sort. Is there a name yet people can rally behind (and it can be someone who’s run before in the primaries).

Sarah will probably pull in between 15 and 20 million this year, and on the side, endorse candidates .. some will be moderates.. the pay is the same if she endorses a conservative in California.. the result perhaps not so down the road..

Take the money while ya can, huh?

I’m okay with the totality of those quotes you listed. I’m also fine with Fiorina’s biz credentials, even though the HP ride wasn’t always smooth.

I’m not so happy with Palin backing another pro-amnesty style RINO in the primaries.

“Well, I don’t think John McCain could run a major corporation, I don’t think Barack Obama could run a major corporation, I don’t think Joe Biden could run a major corporation,” Fiorina said.

Well, that is all speculation. Contrast that with Carly, who has proven that she can't run a major corporation.
