First off, this is simply outstanding! Great shooting with a happy outcome!
Next off though...
He requested permission to fire from his superiors - a battlefield requirement if the enemy had not yet opened fire - and was given the 'weapons free' order.

The US has some incredible sniper stories, too. Unfortunately, if they were told, it would put their families at risk here from enemy cells, so mums the word. Good shooting from this soldier and I hope his family stays safe.

Unbelievable. Bolt Action, 338 Lupua with a 3x12 scope. Even at 12 power the targets would be pretty small at a mile. Factor in wind, gravity, temperature, rotation of the earth, etc. and that’s incredible shooting.

Wow...The Brits are producing some of the finest snipers in the world. This is the second shooting, the first, was reported over the weekend and he took out 2 at 1.5 miles. Using the same rifle...! I’d love to see one of those rifles..(love to own one)
