The Battle of San Jacinto is far more important than the Alamo. San Jacinto is where Sam Houston led the Texas Army in kicking Santa Anna's Mexican Army butt. That was the defining battle in Texas becoming a Republic.
Texas celebrates San Jacinto Day April 21st....
