Allow me a moment to step away from the usual voice of this website.
What I am about to write has absolutely nothing to do with hockey.
If you live outside of Nashville, you may not be aware, but our city was hit by a 500-year flood over the last few days. The national news coverage gave us 15 minutes, but went back to focusing on a failed car bomb and an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. While both are clearly important stories, was that any reason to ignore our story? It may not be as terror-sexy as a failed car bomb or as eco-sexy as an oil spill, but thats no reason to be ignored.

I moved from Nashville in 1979. The Corps said then that the city would never be flooded again. I guess the Opryland Hotel and the Ryan were inundated.

Well, in keeping with our reputation for being racist here goes. You know why there was no national coverage here? Its cuz we didn’t have any black people on our roofs. Hey. You know it’s true. This place is a disaster area. I have been (but shouldn’t have been) stunned by the lack of coverage. Although I will say the local news has been outstanding.

'Obama Hates White People'
So given the MSM are his lapdogs they follow suit and so they 'Hate White People' too and won't cover it :-)
It's kinda fun mocking the Left for their Bush Hates Black People bull.

Looks like the Ryman only had minor flooding. The Opryland Hotel had 10ft of water though.

That is scary since the river is usually fifteen or twenty feet BELOW the level ground there. Last time I was there (about 12 years ago) we took the boat ride on River from the hotel.

Cant blame Bush. Cant blame angry republicans. Cant blame the Catholic church. The situation doesnt fit any of their categories. Nothing to see here - move along.
Funny and true.
