As a Fox reporter brings up criticism likening the administration's response to [the Gulf oil spill] to President Bush's reaction to Hurricane Katrina, Gibbs launches into a tirade on Fox News for bringing former FEMA Director Michael Brown on the air to discuss the accusation that the Obama White House purposefully leaked the oil to walk back environmental and offshore drilling policies.
"You should call headquarters, my friend," Gibbs says to the Fox reporter, asking him to talk with the person who decides which guests to book. "Your network put on the former FEMA director to make an accusation that the well had been purposely set off in order to change an offshore drilling decision." (4:39 p.m.)
Right, Gibbs. We all know burning petroleum can’t bring down a steel structure.
How does that feel? Your pals in MSM set it up and your leaders let it happen, in fact, liked the results. Now, it’s pert of the culture and you are the point man.
What drilling? His new polices delayed drilling that was already approved as I recall.
Gibb's has to work daily to support the biggest of all Obama conspiracies ...
FU, Pig Boy.
Bump for later...
I guess Obama, et al aren't supposed to be challenged on anything. Just take whatever they say at face value.
That would be stupid on a reporters part since they have been caught lying more times than one can count.
Yes, Gibbs and Obama need to be peppered with the question, “Mr. Obama, what do you think you did wrong?”
over
and over
and over.
How many times as a Senator did Zero make a profound statement on any number of subjects he was totally clueless on.
They keep using Salinsky tactics wth demonizing the anyone on the other side. Former FEMA Director shouldn’t be booked as a guest or listened to. Obama wouldn’t comment on what Sarah Palin’s criticisms were with the nuclear deal. Gibbs called Tancredo a lunatic, and wouldn’t answer the charge.
Fox must be right over the target.
Did Brown repeat the accusation? How did Matthews respond?
It was okay for the press and liberals to do that to Pres. Bush but it seems OBambie is off limits.
Those comments are a little surprising considering theyre on Politico
Politico has been dropping a lot of hints lately that there is chaos and panic inside this WH.
Way to go, Fox! Keep on freakin’ them out!
That’s right.
My thoughts exactly. I drew this parallel on a thread 4 days ago.
It wasn’t sabotage. Here’s a radio interview with the Transocean fire survivor - this guy was on the rig.
http://www.drillingahead.com/video/transocean-survivor-interview
It was a gigantic bubble of gas that blew the plug out; the force blew out the pipeline and blew a hole in the rig. The igniting oil burned so hot that the rig collapsed.
From the interview:
“Once they open that plug, to go ahead and start cementing the top of the well, the well bore, we would cement the top and then basically we would pull off, another rig would slide over and do the rest of the completions work.
“When they opened the well, is when the gas, the well kicked and we took a humungous gas bubble kick up through the well bore, it literally pushed the sea water all the way to the crown of the rig which is about 240 feet in the air.”
I was not seriously suggesting sabotage. I am however making the point that all the lefties who enabled, encouraged, and published or gave air time to the Truthers will have a difficult time squashing rumors that the oil platform is Obama’s inside job for political gain, if those spreading the rumors use the Truther tactics. That path has been greased and groomed for eight years.
Why is gibbs so sensitive about this? Why doesn’t he wave it off like the birth certificate?
As usual, it's Gibbs lying. Michael Brown never said the administration was part of some conspiracy to cause a leak. He said the administration's response was lackadaisical and that they were taking political advantage of the spill to kill offshore drilling. All of that is true.
Certainly, the accusation was no worse than all the crap the MSM was throwing around about Katrina, claiming the slow response was because of racism.
Did you notice that I used the conditional mood?
