HOUSTON - A small piece of luggage exploded at Bush Intercontinental Airport on Tuesday afternoon. No injuries were reported.
According to a spokeswoman for the Houston Airport System, the luggage exploded shortly after the jet landed around 2 p.m.
Ground crews said they noticed something strange about the luggage and were working to remove it when the explosion occurred.
While no injuries were reported

I wonder what was odd about it that they noticed that the crew that put it ON the jet didn’t see?
That makes me feel really safe about flying.
Unless it was put on by someone who was a luggage handler loading the jet.
The story now says the police blew up the luggage. There was smoke coming from it.

They were UNLOADING the suitcase from the plane.
It all started as airport ground crews removed luggage from a flight that just arrived from Amsterdam.
According to the Houston Airport System, it was around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday when a “pop” was heard and smoke could be seen coming from a suitcase. Crews had already offloaded the luggage and placed it on the tarmac when the smoke was seen.
The article says that the plane came from Amsterdam.
I wouldn’t be surprised.

Hi, How are you doing? Haven’t seen you post for awhile! For me, things are going pretty good! Neddles seems to be somewhat helping, cataract surgery went well and having the other eye done on May 13th. Can hardly wait to see clearly out of both eyes, for a change! Will still need glasses for reading, but distance should be awesome!

Joya has started going to someone here . . . Some sort of Doc in a type of naturopathy for some tension sort of pain in her neck and shoulders. Has evidently been quite helpful. Might be totally unrelated to your situation. I don’t know if that type person there would be of any benefit to you or not.

Eventually they'll figure out that there are plenty of other high-occupancy targets that don't have near the security as airliners do.
