PHOENIX - The Phoenix Suns will wear "Los Suns" on their jerseys Wednesday for Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals, owner Robert Sarver said, "to honor our Latino community and the diversity of our league, the state of Arizona, and our nation."
The decision to wear the jerseys on the Cinco de Mayo holiday stems from a law passed by the Arizona Legislature and signed by Gov. Jan Brewer that has drawn widespread criticism from Latino organizations and civil rights groups that say it could lead to racial profiling of Hispanics. President Barack Obama has called the law "misguided."

What about the WNBA? haha
Rumor is the MLB will “take away” the AllStar game as punishment. Then I hope all those with contracts for that game sue the hell out of the MLB.
Exactly, entertainment.
Odd choice of words for this forum.
Well, he's not the current president. He's an ex-president, aka former president. I guess I don't any issue here.
I'm with dragnet2 on this one....I don't see a problem with the choice of words.
I have been a loyal Phoenix Sun fan for eight years. No More!! I will boycott all Phoenix Suns games, broadcats, and radio shows. It is an outrage that these professional miscreants, dare to reveal their true feelings about their disregard to our country’s laws. By the way, Suns ( and you too, Sarver,) Phoenix is located in the United States. If you feel so strongly about Prop 1070, move your frickin team to Mexico City!!!!! Go Spurs!!
As in "he's not MY President".
Heard it and saw it applied to that particular President far too many times in a derisive context for eight years. Usually preceded/followed by some lunatic rant about Halliburton, BushCO, Iraq, Katrina, and other assorted lefty bumpersticker fare.
But then, I've used it as such every chance I've had since 1/20/09, so perhaps I'm a bit sensitized to it. At any rate, folks around here have traditionally been a bit more respectful of President Bush, that's all - at least up until the end.
And.... I get the whole "former" thing..... Maybe "odd choice of word" would have more appropriate on my part.
Oh well....
Out
Ya mean the president where his top Homeland Security Chief was found to have people that entered this country illegally wandering around the inside of his private residence illegally, during wartime? Ya mean the same president that publicly aided and abetted a violent illegal invasion of our country, and then when the citizens had belly full and did something about it, he refers to them as "vigilantes"?
Is that what your talking about Mr. Conservativeharleyguy?
Wow! That’s big of them! Wouldn’t they be “Los Sols”, however?
Idiots!
I have been working the last few days with a legal immigrant from Puebla, the city in Mexico where the battle was fought back on Cinco De Mayo in 1862. He speaks very little English, but I can converse in Spanish so we discussed many things. He said Cinco De Mayo is only celebrated in Puebla south of the border, and that Mexican Independence Day is the truly important holiday in Mexico. He won’t do anything special tomorrow, it’s just not that important to him.
Where were the “Los Suns” jerseys before the Arizona act?
Come out behind your ivory tower, Mr. Sarver, and live like the rest of us. Then maybe pandering hypocrites like you’d understand
I hate Basketball.
Fans should bring nothing but pesos to the game to pay for everything....
The other teams should SHUN these traitors! Refuse to play them!
Your anger just seems a bit out of character for this particular Republic....
You asked the question (??)
I responded....
If ya can’t handle the truth, don’t ask questions.
To show proper support for their approval of illegal aliens, we should help people get in to their games without paying. I wonder how many players/owners would allow non-paying fans in....
get the illegals to buy your damn tickets.
N-H-L. There isn't really any PC crap (Los Red Wings) in the NHL. Plus, the Stanley Cup playoffs are on. Great TV!
Arizonans: Boycott the Suns, these pro-sport owners are all sorry-a$$ed liberals, hit them where it hurts, in the pocketbook, shut them down with poor/no attendance.

Nothing but positive coverage of this stunt by the local paper, the AZ republic. They have 2 front page stories about the Suns in today’s sports section (one’s a columnist), and the take is it’s a great publicity move.
Read them - Nash is also a “hero” in this (global warming, gun control, that sort of stuff is all mentioned).

They’ve been wearing those all season.
They’re not new.
