While anything is possible, this seems highly implausible. The Sunni/Shia conflict is almost as violent as the Mooslimb/Jewish conflict.

It would seem very unlikely that Iran was giving aid and comfort to their own avowed enemy.

This story is full of holes. First off, Iran would not necessarily keep it a secret if Osama had refuge there, in fact, he’s make an excellent bargaining chip during sanctions, or even F-16 parts. I guess that blows the “theory” he’s making audiocasettes because no background in Iran “looks like” Pakistan. Iran would at least secretly, want us to think he is there.
