An imam in Mali is living in fear after backing a new family law which no longer obliges wives to obey their husbands, angering Muslim groups.
Times Square bomber was known internet jihadi
We found traces of people named "Faisal Shahzad" all over the internet, and even some using variants of the Times Square bomber's email address. Some of them on forums which seemed to be sympathetic to Salafi jihadism, and others? Not so much. In fact, one "fshahzad" seemed to be arguing explicitly against the Deobandi - Hanafi Sunni branch of Islam favored by the Taliban. Unfortunately both Faisal and Shahzad are very common names.
But I didn't find the posts at The World Islamic Mission Fourm discussed by Jim Hoft and cited by Fox News here. I'd be very interested in seeing what he posted, but as I'm on the road I'm unable to do the research myself and would appreciate it much if someone could send a link.
And what more can I say than Jim already said? Other than that expressing jihad sympathies on the internet ought to be considered prima facie evidence of intent to break the law. Someone like that not only should not have been allowed to become a citizen, but also should have been under close watch.
Further, if he was expressing jihad sympathies back in 2006, then Shahzad lied on several INS forms. Whether or not Sen. Lieberman's idea of stripping citizenship from jihadis ever comes to fruition or not, lying on INS forms is a felony and is grounds to have his citizenship revoked.
Snips: What, in effect, these organisations told the American Muslims was: "We can handle the jihad in the Af-Pak region. You will better serve the cause of Islam by going back to the US and starting a jihad in the US Homeland. We will give you the necessary training for this." This has come out very clearly in the testimonies in the US case against Najibullah Zazi, a US resident of Afghan origin, and two others, who had been motivated by Al Qaeda and the JEM to mount an attack in the New York subway system similar to the Madrid bombing of March 2004 and the London bombing of July,2005.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Police in different US cities have till now succeeded in thwarting the attempts of these surrogate jihadis. Luck has also favoured them. But so long as more and more surrogate jihadis keep coming back to the US after having been motivated and trained in the training camps in Pakistani territory, there will always be a danger of one or more planned attacks being successful.
Snip: The manner in which the regime is now battling the Pakistan taliban has increased the risk of jihadi terrorism at home. Indeed, less than ten years after 9/11, this country selected a national leader who more closely resembles the Times Square Bomber than anyone else, and we wonder why the country seems less safe.
The Obama regime are too busy looking for Christian, gun owning conservative, activists, to worry about muzzie jihadist terrorists!
If the regime would spend more time pursuing terrorists actively training right here in the USA in compounds most of us can readily find on the internet as the time they spend trashing Fox News and tea party supporters, that'd be "change" for sure (but not certain any of us would believe it was "for real" at this juncture).

Recently Muslims had made veiled threats, to the executive producers of the South Park comedy show, just because Mohammad was featured in one of their cartoons. After the veiled threats, Comedy Central cowardly censored the episode. A few days later, Seattle artist Molly Norris came up with the idea to start an Everybody Draw Muhammad Day!. Like wildfire the idea spread across the Internet, but it was all was too much for Molly to handle. She quickly backed down as well.
Draw Mohammad Day on FaceBook~
The muslims have already countered.

Thank you, Islaminaction!
In an unprecedentedly wild rampage, even for al Qaeda, raider-units, speeding drive-by gun squads, car bombs, and homicidal suicides mowed down checkpoints, liquidated Iraqi soldiers, police and security personnel and murdered civilians, in eight Iraqi cities including the capital, Baghdad, Monday, May 10. By the end of the day, more than 100 people were dead and 300 injured.
The gunmen broke new ground in terrorist tactics when they used automatic weapons fitted with silencers to creep up on their victims. debkafile's military sources report that at dawn, the raiders appeared simultaneously at checkpoints in most quarters of Baghdad. They lowered the windows of their cars when asked for documents, then opened fire with the silenced automatic weapons on the officers manning them.
Then came a deadly wave of massive bombing attacks against police stations, policemen's homes and military patrols in Baghdad and Falujjah to the West and Mosul in the North.
T he single deadliest attack struck civilians in the small town of Suwayrah near Hillah in the South.
There, a pair of remote-controlled car bombs killed eight passersby, following which a suicide bomber blew himself up among the rescue teams, raising the death toll there to 45.
More al death squads hit Balad, Tamiya and Iskandriya.
Al Qaeda was venting its fury for the deaths of two of its senior commanders in Iraq, Abu Amar al Baghdad and Abu Ayub Al-Masri, at the hands of joint US-Iraqi intelligence teams, on April 18.
The two terrorist chiefs were killed by missiles at a hideout in the town of Tharthar northeast of Baghdad. Al Masri's aide and Al-Baghadi's son also died in the attack. debkafile's counter-terror sources note that it took al Qaeda only 22 days to avenge the loss of its commanders and unleash a coordinated reign of terror countrywide that proved its strength was unimpaired.

Remember that zebam just told us there were no al qaeda left worth speaking of in Iraq?
An American-born member of Shabaab, al Qaeda's affiliate in Somalia, has released a propaganda tape that is aimed at recruiting Westerners to wage war against their home countries and establish an Islamic caliphate in the Middle East.
The audiotape, titled "First Stop Addis," features Abu Mansour al Amriki and other members of Shabaab. On the tape, Mansour and three unidentified "North American Brothers," and a Somali, sing a nasheed, or a song without music, in English, extolling the virtues of global jihad. Images of Shabaab forces in combat appear throughout the tape.
Amriki, whose real name is Omar Hammami, is a US citizen who converted to Islam and traveled to Somalia in 2006. Once in Somalia, he quickly rose through the ranks, and now serves as a military commander. Amriki also began appearing in Shabaab propaganda tapes.
"Guerilla warfare from Mogadishu presents... First Stop Addis," Amriki's latest tape begins. Addis is a reference to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. After Ethiopa ousted the Islamic Courts from power in Somalia during an invasion in December 2006, Shabaab began threatening to target Ethiopa.
The tape stresses that Shabaab's war is not confined to Somalia but is global in nature. "From Somalia and Shiishaan (Chechnya), from Iraq and Afghanistan, gonna meet up in the Holy Lands, establishing Allahs Law on the land," Amriki says in a chorus repeated throughout the song. Amriki and others identify their enemy as the "salib," or crusaders.
The tape is clearly aimed at recruiting Westerners. It is produced in English and uploaded onto YouTube. There are no Somali or Arabic subtitles on the tape. Amriki and the others stress that it is their duty to die in battle.
"My number one goal... die a shaheed," or martyr, is a refrain repeated by Amriki and others throughout the tape.
Shabaab has been successful in recruiting fighters in the US and in Europe. The US believes that scores of Muslims living in the US have been recruited and trained in camps in Somalia. And Britain believes that more than 200 Muslims have departed the UK to fight alongside Shabaab in Somalia.
(snip)
Shabaab merged with al Qaeda in November 2008 after requesting to join the international terror group in September 2008. Top al Qaeda leaders Osama bin Laden, Ayman al Zawahiri, and Abu Yayha al Libi have praised Shabaab in propaganda tapes and encouraged the group to carry out attacks against the Somali government, neighboring countries, and the West. In late 2009, Osama bin Laden appointed Fazul Mohammed to serve as al Qaeda's operations chief in East Africa; the announcement was made at a ceremony in Mogadishu that was attended by Ahmad Godane Zubayr, Shabaab's spiritual leader.
See video at link.
I just watched the tape I linked to in the previous post. Looks like Al Qaeda is moving into “rap” with this “catchy tune”..., well, not quite, but this is a fairly sophisticated production. Roggio said it was just released, but they mention/sing about Bush & Rice.
Can you identify the aerial shot at the end of the video? It has a circle targeting an area, but I have no idea where it is.
Is this the beginning of a new trend...
The last thing the vid says is first stop Addis. I am presuming it is Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, since this thing comes from shabaab in Somalia.
The circled area is probably where the embassies are.

The first, which the YouTube page titled “Hakeemullah Mehsud is Alive and Healthy and Delivering news about Attacks on USA,” is 2:17 long, and shows a still satellite image of North America with a still image of Hakimullah Mehsud. Speaking in Urdu, he states that the date is April 19, 2010 and threatens bombings in U.S. “states & cities”; as he speaks, explosions are shown taking place across the map.

"Al Qaeda is trying to ... use some gaps created by some political problems," the Iraqi security spokesman told Arabiya TV. "There are well-known agendas for the terrorist groups operating in Iraq. Some of these groups are supported regionally and internationally with the aim of influencing the political and democratic process inside Iraq."
........Violence in Iraq has fallen dramatically since the height of the insurgency in 2006 and 2007. But the political vacuum in the wake of the inconclusive election has raised the risk that sectarian violence will pick up again.
Former Prime Minister Ayad Allawi's Iraqiya coalition, a secular group heavily backed by the Sunni Arab minority, edged out Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's religious Shiite bloc by two seats in the parliamentary election but neither won an outright majority, forcing them to seek partners to form a ruling coalition.
(snip)
The attacks also come at a precarious time as Iraq awaits a new government to be formed more than two months after landmark parliamentary elections and worries that insurgents will try to exploit the ongoing political uncertainty to stoke new violence.
The election results have yet to be certified by the country's highest court - which must happen before any new government can be formed - and a recount demanded by al-Maliki in Baghdad is ongoing.
If the results are overturned or Allawi is not perceived as the winner deserving a legitimate shot at forming a government, that could in turn outrage the Sunnis who supported him. Sunni anger at Shiite domination of successive governments was a key reason behind the insurgency.
So much for “hearts and minds.”
Does anyone think zebam cares? I never understood why our guys were dying to create yet another islamic state. I still don’t.
I tried to understand when we were told Iraq would become a secular state as a buffer in the area, a foil to iran. But it never worked that way, it isn’t working that way now, and it never will.
Anyone in a western government who thinks that you can make deals with islam is out of their mind. And as much as Petraeus did manage to win the moment, unfortunately, he lost the war because from the very outset, the war was between saudi arabia and iran for dominance in the area. We were little more than saudi proxies. I said it then. I’m still saying it now.
The Kurds will have to watch their backs just like they did before...when daddy bush allowed them to be slaughtered like cattle.

Ab Mikva talks about his ex-clerk Elena Kagan

Ab Mikva’s grin almost came through the phone this morning when I asked him about Elena Kagan.
The former U.S. Appellate Court judge and White House counsel knows Ms. Kagan about as well as anyone in the government, having been her boss in both of those positions, when she clerked for him as a judge and served as his deputy when he was the chief White House lawyer in the Clinton administration.

OBAMA AND THE JEWS: A look at why some Jews love him and some don’t trust him; and at the key role Chicago Jews played in getting him to where he is
By Pauline Dubkin Yearwood (10/24/2008)
That makes the regime gang look anti-American!
This reproabate's conscious is so seared that if he had an encounter with God Himself, he would, without missing a step, run off to manipulate the experience for political advantage.
~~~~~~
Part of Kagan's makeover has been the defense that her interest in and writings about socialism were to probe the roots of her brother's radicalism.
Paraphrasing there...but I was curious about this brother and his views, thinking that though he may be radical, this smokescreen is being used to mask Kagan's own views.
Have you found anything on Mark Kagan?
Do you think he may be this Kings County law clerk?
Doing a search on him, I get the feeling that the scrubber patrol has done its advance work.
I will take a look a bit later.
Robert Kagan, 67, Lawyer for Tenants
Published: July 25, 1994
Robert Kagan, a New York lawyer and a former chairman of Community Board 7, on the Upper West Side, died on Friday at the New York University Medical Center. He was 67 and had lived on the Upper West Side for the last 30 years.
The cause was pneumonia, and he had heart surgery in December, said his son Marc.
At his death, Mr. Kagan was a longtime partner in the Manhattan law firm of Kagan & Lubic. It has worked with tenant associations involved in negotiations with landlords about converting rented apartments to co-ops.
Mr. Kagan was chairman of the community board from 1969 to 1971 and from 1974 to 1975 and was a member for more than a decade. Its district extends from 59th to 110th Street and from Central Park West to the Hudson River.
From 1971 to 1975 he was also the chairman of COMBO, a committee representing West Side community boards, which opposed the Westway highway project. In 1968 he was the president of the United Parents Association, a citywide parents’ advocacy group. He was also a trustee of the West End Synagogue.
Mr. Kagan was born in Brooklyn, grew up in its Flatbush section and received a B.A. from Penn State University in 1948, an LL.B. from Yale in 1951 and a master’s degree in law from New York University.
In World War II he was a sergeant in the United States Army, and in later years he was a trustee of the American Diabetes Association.
In addition to his son Marc, of Manhattan, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, the former Gloria Gittelman; another son, Irving, of Manhattan; a daughter, Elena, of Chicago, and two grandchildren.
Mom Gloria taught public school's best and brightest at Hunter College Elementary School;
brother, Marc Kagan, who was a transit worker and union reformer in Transport Workers Local 100. Marc Kagan was one of former Local 100 leader Roger Toussaint's top aides until the two had a falling out in 2003. That's par for the course for the Upper Left Side, where if you can't launch two feuds before lunch, the day's a waste.
Marc Kagan became a teacher and he's no less a fierce supporter of union rights in his new union. In a letter in last week's Chief-Leader, he takes a swipe at schools chancellor Joel Klein's notion that seniority rules shouldn't apply to upcoming teacher layoffs. He goes on to offer a full-throated defense of unionism...
