A car bomb nearly caused a bloodbath in the heart of Times Square yesterday as a homemade explosive device in an SUV parked outside the doors of the "The Lion King" fizzled out.
The bomb caused a terror scare that forced thousands of people to evacuate the Crossroads of the World and turn Times Square into a ghost town for hours.
A male mounted patrol cop looked inside the smoldering Nissan Pathfinder at around 6:30 p.m. on West 45th Street near Seventh Avenue in front of an entrance to the Minskoff Theatre, which houses the hugely popular Disney musical.
He smelled gunpowder and called in the Fire Department, which put out the car fire as the streets were cleared of civilians.

Interesting point. I’m sorry if I dragged that discussion to this thread. I’ll copy-paste your post to a better spot ...
According to the guy on the rig, the zone they drilled into was about 30,000psi.
Production casing and production tubing is designed to hold that pressure, riser pipe isn’t. Even pipe that is designed to hold that pressure won’t hold when ther is a quick kick in preaaure. Everything just starts coming apart.
They had cemented the well. Gas had worked it’s way through the cement. It happens. When they opened the BOP a gas bubble blew out and went up the riser pipe to the rig. They had taken the mud out of the riser pipe to unhook, and it was full of salt water. The salt water in the riser pipe blew out the hole first, then the gas blew out. The entire rig filled with gas and it ignited.

10-4!!
Thank you, blackie.
Microwave oven with something inside it. Diffused by robot, day after Times Square. A low-tech explosion could be caused — chems in a microwave oven. Urg! Very dangerous if misused.
“Fox is hinting at Islamic Terrorists as the possible group behind the bomb.
These days I’m more inclined to suspect the Obama Administration.”
What is the difference?
That do that in the movies all of the time...
