A car bomb nearly caused a bloodbath in the heart of Times Square yesterday as a homemade explosive device in an SUV parked outside the doors of the "The Lion King" fizzled out.
The bomb caused a terror scare that forced thousands of people to evacuate the Crossroads of the World and turn Times Square into a ghost town for hours.
A male mounted patrol cop looked inside the smoldering Nissan Pathfinder at around 6:30 p.m. on West 45th Street near Seventh Avenue in front of an entrance to the Minskoff Theatre, which houses the hugely popular Disney musical.
He smelled gunpowder and called in the Fire Department, which put out the car fire as the streets were cleared of civilians.

Hey...I was listening to talk radio. Guys that use to work the oil rigs in Houston were calling up about this. some of them say that there is some sort of safety and that they thought something was amiss here.....
We have a President and the Media who want to turn away from what is happening here in our America. An Oil Rig Explodes. Just like the terrorist in Fort Hood...Nothing..No mention as to what it was. A terrorist attack. Now last night a car bomb in time square...What is Wrong With Everyone? We ARE being Set Up For Something Worse!

Since December, we've had the underwear bomber, a highly suspicious explosion aboard an offshore drilling platform which is being kept hush hush except for carefully scripted propaganda bytes, while at the same time requiring SWAT snipers and the US Air Force, and now a car bomb in Times Square. Yep, must be TEA partiers again /s I miss George Bush.

Interesting how this occurs on the same day that the National Enquirer’s Obama Cheating Scandal hits the stands?!
Has Napolitano yet stated that DHS acted “Like Clock Work”?

Has Napolitano even bothered with the car bomb? I thought she was busy “investigating” an “accident” on an oil platform.

0bama’s anti-terrorism policies at work. How many times will these attackers fail before (God forbid) they succeed?

Watching NBC’s “Today Show” and, while NYC is under partial lock-down due to the terrorist car bomb scare of yesterday, the stooges at NBC decide that it’s informative to have the cast of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” on set to talk about their new season on Bravo. Is it any wonder why NBC is down in the ratings dump?!

Fox is hinting at Islamic Terrorists as the possible group behind the bomb. These days I'm more inclined to suspect the Obama Administration.
To: SilvieWaldorfMD
While I was waiting for the news conference last night on Fox, I took a quick flip over to CNN to see their coverage.
They had two women talking about the oil slick.
CNN later did go to the bomb, but as soon as they could they went to ashlee simpson or some such tripe, while fox was still on the bomb.
Let’s face it, terrorism doesn’t fit the lib template. Bush was just a scaremonger, and they just don’t think such things are that important - unless of course, it turns out to be some militia type. (I doubt it). Then it will be all terrorism all the time.

At least the bomb didn't explode. If it did, it would have been the first successful domestic terrorist attack in the United States. Obama would have then fingered the failed car bomb attack to the patriot militias and given a casus belli to attack them and declare nationwide martial law.He may still try to claim the need.

Was it a bomb, or ‘the makings of a bomb’? Because any homeowner has items that can be described as materials that can be used for making a bomb.

I was being tongue in cheek, FRiend. I think that even if true, PB should know that errors can be made by construction workers. Safety systems need to be triple checked, for crying out loud, and re-checked annually.

And if you think the oil rig explosion in the gulf was an accident, you are kidding yourself. Naw, Halliburton didnt know how to pour concrete. [And BP failed to properly inspect its safety measures?]
One salient fact that nobody talks about is this: An explosion, underwater or not, requires fuel, oxygen, and ignition. How does that "accidentally" happen under thousands of feet of water?
