Look for Washington types such as Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Richard Holbrooke, the U.S. special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Party crashers were not welcome. After Tareq and Michaele Salahi got through White House gates without invitations to a state dinner, guests had to bring a dinner ticket or printed invitation to attend dinner pre-parties at the Washington Hilton Hotel. Organizers said they were trying to cut down on crowds.

Night of the Living Dead!
Jay looks like he is on anti-depressants. It’s hard to be funny when you are battling depression.
That was extremely tasteless, in an evening full of bad taste.
it is fact that piped in laughter was used too.....cheap bass turds
They are such fakes—fake laughter doesn’t surpise me.
I have never seen such a boring, unfunny Correspondents Dinner.
Yes — there were 5 of us there and did get to see some heros who acknowledged us — Michael Barone, Bill Sammon and John Fund. Also Susan Collins, but she was by us before we realized who she was. We talked with Fund for a few minutes. Others who came our way were — Eleanor Clift, who achnowledged us with less than happy smirk — er smile; Dick Gregory was polite and smiled; Steny Hoyer never glanced our way, and hollered to Andrea Mitchell from a distance. Most in tuxes wouldn’t look at us, but a few did nod in agreement. The crowd that passed was mixed and some just tossed a comment and kept on — as libs usually do, but some did stop to agree with our signs. Several of the people who agreed with us were young, and that is a good sign.
There were a lot of movie fans there — but down the street from us, where celebrities went in other than the front entrance. Clapping and cheers went everytime some sort of tinsel-town ‘star’ went in. Up near us, a samll van stopped and a pile of young guys got out. Jonas Brothers? I don’t know them by sight, but there probably was a lot of fainting going on when they went in, as that was the sort of crowd it was. When did a press dinner turn into a pop event?
The police didn’t push us down the street as they usually do when O came. AAMOF, the police didn’t seem to know what they were doing. They put their tape up but people just walked by it. It didn’t stop anyone.
It was hot out there, and we faced the sun. Rather than go in to eat, we all went our own way. It seemed to be lower key than usual. Because of the present gov’t? As usual there were a lot of tux people who just went there for the cocktail hour but didn’t stay for the dinner. Fund said that he never stays.
Just a catty bit about some of the dresses on the women. Huh? Don’t some of those people ever check themselves in the mirror, back and front? And taste?? As I said — just a catty bit, but I couldn’t help it!!
Angelwood — what was the name of that last Freeper to join us?
Forgot to add Al Sharpton to the list. (How could I forget that one ?????!!!!)
I watched the thing. Worst ever.
Watching the slugs exit from the event was better than the jokes.
I did not attend this year. RonG asked me to post his great picturs,
