President Obama praised government during his commencement address at the Unniversity of Michigan in Ann Arbor. "Government is what ensures that mines adhere to safety standards and that oil spills are cleaned up by the companies that caused them," he said. "We've also clearly seen the dangers of too little government, like when a lack accountability on Wall Street nearly leads to the collapse of our entire economy," Obama added.

I really think this country needs an opt-in tax code, with a minimum of say 15%

All of these liberals who think taxes should be high ought to be allowed to give whatever they want to the government. I’ll even allow them to advertise their largess.

Just leave the rest of us the hell alone

I am saddened and worried. I can clearly see no peaceful answer to what they are doing. I want peace as much as the next guy/gal, but my goodness. There is no end, there is no reprieve, and this will not and cannot last.

I’ve read so many posters talk about how they cry for our country or felt sick at healthcare. I’ve felt bad, but mostly an anger at loss of liberty. Today I feel sad, because now I see the handwriting on the wall. These people are like the aliens in the movie Independence Day.

“Peace...there can be no peace.”

They will never stop (of their own accord), never. I urge everyone to pray for our country, get your house in order, make new friends, stoke the fires of old ones, and steel yourselves. God bless you all.

“The city burned while the people, Government, watched porn. Hmmmm we need more govt.”

A few circles lower than fiddling to be sure. This has to stop. We haven’t even seen the true false flag yet, just the dry runs, we’re in for the (proverbial?) fight of our lives.

Don’t give up, they will ultimately destroy themselves.

Like Hitler, probably both.

We've also clearly seen the dangers of too little government

The Nazis declared that the state must have absolute power over every man and over every sphere of human activity. "The authority of the Fuhrer is not limited by checks and controls, by special autonomous bodies or individual rights, but it is free and independent,all-inclusive and unlimited".

Ernest Huber, an official Nazi party spokesman in 1933

Dear Imperial Leader of the Unicorn and Rainbow Utopia,

The Gubmint didn't prevent the Coal Mine Disaster or the Oil Spill Disaster.

Considering that YOUR Gubmint is full of power hungry Elitist Statists, I have serious doubts that YOUR Gubmint has any understanding of what OUR Republic even stands for.

You Sir, are the enemy of Freedom. You sir, are the enemy of everything Good and Unique about the United States of America. You sir, are the Problem, not the Solution.

Signed,
America

>>>Future historians will think he was either insane or eeevil.<<<

Agreed - on the order of our era’s Nero or Caligula. Sadly, the implication from that metaphor is that the next step is having the Praetorian Guard select the emperor. But that’s just a metaphor... the future is more unpredictable than that.

Government is the answer of last resort when self regulation fails and we sure have seen a run of system failures. When nobody is watching, anything goes.

The layers of the 0bama onion continue to fall away. Every time he opens his mouth, he gets closer and closer to his core belief that the best government is the most government; that he and his ilk are the only ones qualified to run the lives of all Americans, period.

We are sliding, concurrently, closer and closer to the citizens’ reset button...

It’s time to take back the country. My preference is the ballot box, but...

“All of these liberals who think taxes should be high ought to be allowed to give whatever they want to the government. I’ll even allow them to advertise their largess.”

Howie Carr, on the MA optional tax rate;

We have a two-tier income tax in this state, you know. You have the option of paying either at the standard rate of 5.3 percent, or at the old, higher 5.85 percent rate.

As of Wednesday, here are this years numbers, according to the state DOR:

Of 1,840,000 state tax filers, exactly 931 have opted to pay taxes at the higher rate. That works out to one-twentieth of one percent. Think of it this way: In 2000, only 60 percent of the Massachusetts electorate voted to cut the income tax, but a decade later 99.95 percent of the population has decided to take advantage of the tax cut a lot of them claimed they didn’t want or need.

The moonbat motto is: Do as I say, not as I do. Consider the charitable deductions (or lack thereof) of the most sanctimonious liberal politicians: Obama, Biden, Kerry. They throw around quarters - their own, anyway - like they were manhole covers. But they would gladly give you the shirt off somebody else’s back.

In Massachusetts, these 931 volunteers had to come up with an additional $54,500, enough to pay Billy Bulger’s pension for just over three months. So the average volunteer moonbat who decided to pay the extra .55 percent this year had a 2009 income of about $12,000.

As pitiful as those numbers are, they’re better than they were at this time last year, when 1.831 million taxpayers had filed, and only 731 ponied up. But those 731 chipped in $70,232, which means last year’s moonbats had an average income of $19,000.”

Howie Carr;

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/columnists/view/20100404moonbats_wing_it_when_it_comes_to_paying_more_taxes/

you just can’t make this shit up.

They’re pushing for the “but...,” you know. That’s what worries me. :( Things well be more freer after though, that is the silver lining.
