"Police said they don't recommend doing what Torres did, but they're glad it worked out."

Why is it....that they ALWAYS spout this crap after an armed citizen does exactly what he/she is SUPPOSED to do? Just chaps my hide. They should be kissing him on all four cheeks.

“Police said they don’t recommend doing what Torres did”

Probably that’s just slant journalism. Slanty asks “do you recommend people do this captain?”, Captain has to say “well no not really but we’re very happy Mr Hero did in this case”

Never believe more than 5% of what you read...

Police shoot far more innocent people per year than CCW holders. So, the idea that people should NOT get involved is pure BS.

The police simply want a monopoly on power. Nothing more, nothing less.

Because an unarmed citizenry is job security for the police officer.

Think about it for a second. If criminals received a quick and harsh but just and fitting penalty associated with the crimes they commit, instead of getting slaps on the hand, this would reduce the recidivism rate significantly.

Less crime means less money for law enforcement, lawyers, judges, corrections officers, parole officers, prison construction firms, and others within the big businesses of criminal justice system and the prison industries.

It’s actually in the best interest of the above people to help perpetuate crime in order to promote job security for themselves.
