Why Does Obama Not Take Border Security Seriously?

Renewed push for immigration legislation comes after Obama rejects "border security first" demand which stalled previous bill!

Readers may recall the controversy generated by proposed immigration legislation in 2007 that failed the "border security first" test. Well, it looks like Obama and the Dems are ready to try again.

No details yet on the bill they intend to advance in the Senate, but early signs from the Obama Administration show a rejection of the "border security first" call that was so important in defeating past efforts.

Border security has come to the forefront again in the wake of the growing problem in Arizona and the legislation that state enacted to deal with the violations of civil rights caused by violence and crime generated by illegals.

Fence. No Fence. Fence?

Remember too the controversy over building the border fence along the 2,000 mile border. Dems and some Republicans insisted that a smart fence, or "virtual fence" of sensors and cameras made more sense and was more environmentally friendly than an actual fence. So, we only built 643 miles of actual fence and planned to place sensors along other sensitive areas. Only one problem, the virtual fence was so ineffective, that the building housing it's headquarters along the border had to be surrounded with a real fence to stop vandalism.

Neither does the mainstream media and the Catholic Church, so Obozo is in good company.

If the borders are closed the supply of illegal drugs will diminish and the price will rise. Many who use drugs will be priced out of the market, others will have to work (steal) harder to maintain their use. Crime will skyrocket, there will be rioting in the streets, and martial law will have to be declared. Even worse a major source of funding for criminals on both sides of the law will be removed. When/ if it happens, Tea Partiers and Republicans will be blamed.

Because the Democrats rely on those who have a sense of entitlement to vote for them.

Thinking ahead, the North American Union concept envisions Canada, the US and Mexico with thousands of miles of open sea border with ONLY a narrow border at the Southern tip of Mexico as the only land border necessary to control...the only way to walk, bicycle, ride out of the NAU would be at that border, period. Flight or water transportation out are easily regulated, controlled. Mexico requires little budget or effort to control that border. Could it be that the NAU concept is really not shelved and is quietly awaiting implementation? Could it be that lack of control of our current border with Mexico is to remain in limbo until the NAU is accomplished? The NAFTA highway continues unabated in Canada.

Currently, in the meanwhile, the drug cartels are openly challenging the US/Mexico border and are gaining strength and territory controlled, even as the Border Patrol are denied access to US Dept. of Interior and Agriculture administered lands at the border with Mexico. Who knows what is occurring on the Dept. of the Interior lands, or what is passing through after having “camped” there for a while?

Why should Obama care about border security, he’s not an American.

Lets admit that GW and Clinton also treated illegal immigration as joke. They all do. They laugh at us in DC where there is never a recession

Why Does Obama Not Take Border Security Seriously?

Because they are future Democrat voters!

Why Did Bush Not Take Border Security Seriously?

Same reason. He thought (hoped) they were future Republican voters. Also, he has Hispanics in his own family. I don't think they would have approved.
