On the face of it, Elena Kagan, the United States Solicitor General, and Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina would not seem to have much in common.
Kagan is a Democrat and former dean of Harvard who is currently in the frame to be chosen by President Barack Obama as a Supreme Court Justice. Graham happens to be a lawyer too but he is a Republican, a faithful sidekick of Senator John McCain and a Colonel in the US Air Force Reserve.
Last week, however, both were "outed" as being gay - actions that prompted outrage on the Left in the case of Kagan and, well, hilarity on the Left in the case of Graham.
...
Prefacing his remarks with the statement that "I'm a tolerant person", William Gheen, head of Americans for Legal Immigration, demanded that the Senator "tell people about your alternative lifestyle and your homosexuality".
Graham's crime in Gheen's eyes is that he favours immigration reform - and is (bear with me here) "trying to sell out your own countrymen" for fear of his true sexuality being revealed.

And here I thought it was because Graham's a yellow bellied liberal. But this makes perfect sense. Still, whatshisface from Idaho, Larry Craig had the same issue and he managed to stay one of the most consistently conservative Senators in the Congress, especially on gun rights and the 2nd Amendment. But when he got busted soliciting an undercover cop in an airport mens room, his house of cards collapsed.
I sincerely wish that people like Lindsey Graham and Larry Craig would just out themselves, get it over with, as it were. I’m aware of the potentially ruinous effect that this act would have on their lives, but I, for one, would respect them for it.
I agree. And if Lindsey has been swerving left out of fear of being outed, it is all the more imperative that he be replace with someone made of sterner stuff
Miss Kagen could always adopt. Gay couples are adopting kids these days, and I suspect that they are doing so regardless of what the law allows in a given state.
If she adopts kids, then she might be more worried about the future. But I suspect that she’s more dangerous because she’s probably a leftist, than because she’s a homosexual.
There were probably pragmatic reasons for it; notably the difficulty of having a wife and children if you are undercover, or are sent around the world for years at a time in undercover situations, where pick-up sex is the easy outlet. Agent 007's slutty girl action was a Hollywood fantasy.
The Devil's Bargain that people face in DC: if you support the socialist agenda, you can do as you please in your personal life, while if you oppose the socialist agenda then every detail of your personal life will be broadcast by the MSM. This is why we cannot have Republicans who have anything in their background that they can be blackmailed over.
“If she adopts kids, then she might be more worried about the future. But I suspect that shes more dangerous because shes probably a leftist, than because shes a homosexual.”
You’re right...but no sign of kids. Also, yes, being a leftist is bad, being kidless is also bad (for that type of job)...put them together - it is explosive.
Homosexuality doesn’t make someone “dangerous.” The question is whether it influences political views, and if in the closet it puts them at risk for blackmail and other forms of illegal influence on their decisions.
do we have confirmation or is this just an outing to attack a republican who spends too much on hair products?
oh no it is the joy joy happy be well world of Dr. Koctau in “Demolition Man”.
(a world of nerdy virgins who consider risk adventure having to decide between the banana or brocoli smoothy)
I don’t think it has been confirmed yet, at least not on FOX News.

Sarahpac gave money to Graham (after he was re-elected)
Sarah sees Mccain and Graham as conservatives. Frick and Frat.
