skids writes
"All those futuristic full-face eyeliner jobs in dystopian cyberpunk fiction might not be that far off the mark. A New York University student spent his thesis time exploring computer vision technology (OpenCV) for ways in which one could confound first-stage algorithms that initially lock onto faces. Then he mixed in a bit of fashion sense to predict future geek chic. Now, whether you want to go for the coal-miner look just to stay out of the data mine, that's up to you."

Reminds of that movie, “Gotcha!” with Anthony Edwards when his character has to sneak out of East Berlin with the help of a goth/punk band. When they pick him up in the van they are traveling in he tells the band his trouble and they promptly dress him up and put make up on him to make him look like part of the band. The Stasi takes photos of him but still let him through the border.

This also reminds of the razzle dazzle camoflage they tried out on warships during WWII.

So I guess if you go to the airport looking like any of those face examples you might not be detected? Right! I can't see why they'd draw special attention.

On the show "Masterminds" a counterfeiter used a $3 tube of metallic art paint and a hand-cut rubber stamp to circumvent a new million dollar anti-counterfeiting measure on Canadian money a few years back. The funniest part: It worked perfectly on his very first attempt!
