"A source close to former state commerce secretary Dick Leinenkugel told WKOW27 News Leinenkugel plans to announce his run for the U.S. Senate next week[Monday].
After Leinenkugel resigned his position with the Doyle administration earlier this month, it was widely reported the former beer executive was bolting his association with the democratic governor to don republican clothing and challenge incumbent democratic senator Russ Feingold.
...
Leinenkugels expected entry into the race will come two weeks after former long-time republican governor Tommy Thompson ended speculation over his political future by announcing to a tea party throng in Madison his family wanted him to sit the senate race out.
The beer bearing his familys name makes candidate Leinenkugel almost a household name from the get go.

Dick is a natural born leader, an ex-Marine, and a great candidate to take out Senator Feingold. He is not a RINO but is willing to cross the isle when needed to accomplish goals like stopping the excess wasteful spending taking over our government today.

Change in WisconsinI'll drink to that!!!
What would be COOLER than both McQueeg and Feingold booted out in the same year that SCOTUS booted their unconstitutional law!
To: ChangeInWisconsin
Not exactly who I would want for my state when this year is the perfect year to get a true conservative. Come on Wisconsin you can do better than that. Pennsylvania and Florida are getting complete conservatives into the Senate in November and many others and Wisconsin I know can too...don't settle for less especially this year when conservatives will have the easiest time in a long time.

He is not a RINO but is willing to cross the isle when neededThat's a lot of walking, if we consider the US to be an isle. Perhaps you mean aisle.

Wait, if he crossed over to the stop wasteful spending side that means he was sitting on the Democrat side in the first place.

He's not a RINO but he's a RINO.Even if he IS, so what? Could we possibly trade down from Feingold? He's got about the best name recognition possible in Wisconsin. I've got a slight concern that he may not be taken seriously; that brewery thing didn't work out so well for Pete Coors.
