Rev. Peterson: 'Michael Steele is a RINO'
Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Founder and President of BOND Action, blasted RNC Chairman Michael Steele for his latest remarks that blacks don't have a reason to vote Republican. Steele also told 200 DePaul University students listening to his address on Tuesday that the Republicans walked away from blacks and that their strategy over the last 40 years to attract Southern white males has alienated minorities.
"Michael Steele is a RINO (Republican In Name Only) -- he's dividing the party and hurting recruitment efforts," said Rev. Peterson. "Since January I have called for the GOP to fire Steele because he cannot be trusted to lead the party to victory. I'm hoping that party leaders will finally get over their fear of being called racists and dump him before it's too late."
Rev. Peterson proposed these simple questions for Michael Steele:
1. As Chairman of the RNC, why would you say that black Americans have no reason to vote for Republicans?
2. What reason are you offering minority voters to attract them to the Republican Party?
3. You said that the Republican Party walked away from black voters. How so, Mr. Steele?
4. You claim that Republicans have mistreated the NAACP. Please explain this statement.
5. You stated that for the last 40 years Republicans had a "Southern Strategy" that focused on getting the white male vote and alienated minority voters. Are you saying that Republicans have had a racist strategy?
6. Finally, tell us why you think you and President Barack Obama have a "slimmer margin" of error because of your race.
Rev. Peterson added, "Steele is like an albatross around the neck of the party -- and Republicans will not succeed with him in charge."

I agree. I have been going to Central Committee meetings but it seems so slow to get rid of the slugs! We don’t have the time I believe.
Okay, I surrender. LOL
I love Jesse too! Sigh...We need more white men that honest and brave...
Nobody at the RNC has the fortitude to do it.
I agree. In fact we just need more men like him. I broke my cardinal rule to praise Jessie addressing his race.
He’s a good man. I consider him a brother figure. And I’d be proud to think of anyone in those terms if they were anything like Jessie.
I see that!
We need to get Jesse on all the talk shows and shame the party into getting rid of him.
They will go along to get along with almost anything which assures their positions near the top. The loss of your inividual liberty or mine isn't of much concern to most of them, they see their destiny as wielders of the whips.
Elitism is based on the theory that mankind will drown in it's own slop, lacking coercion from the top. "Conservative" elitists are not much different from "progressive" elitists in this respect.
We fought a revolution to throw out the royalty, now they are trying to come back.
WEll, I did see alot of teapartiers at the central committee meeting last night...they are making their presence known. I just hope there is time....
Puts our RINO'S to shame, if they had any shame, which I doubt.
God bless Jesse, Thomas, Alan, and keep them safe, in Jesus name, amen.
One of the main reasons the Democrats are able to keep driving their radical agenda forward in the face of public disapproval is the knowledge that although the opposition is fierce, it is also diffuse and disorganized. The fault for this situation lies primarily with the GOP, whose leadership is not only pathetically weak, but compromised by a lack of principle, and almost preternaturally stupid.
Thank you for that...sweet!
LOL (preturnaturally stupid)...
Exactly. The RNC remains a principle-free zone, and yet they do nothing but solicit donations from people whose lives and fortunes are being threatened by people who actually have principles (even if they are bad ones).
More likely a case of tokenism, the RNC really believes they can flim flam us again. They already know what they want and who will lead on the ballot. They will attempt to marginalize our choices.
MIchael Steele is an affirmative action hire.
Maybe th GOP are mostly RINO’s, too??
Go Jesse!
Come on now, let’s not go overboard on the republicans..sheesh...they are standing tall on many front. Eric Cantor, John Boehner, Michelle Bachman, Jim Demint...all outstanding. Maybe they are being wise and not going for this one on Micheal Steele. It’s good that Jesse is but we have to wise as serpent but harmless as a dove and Steele,s term is up in a few months I believe.
