The judge presiding over former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's corruption trial called an emergency meeting Thursday evening after information that was intended to remain under seal was released to the public in a defense filing to subpoena President Barack Obama.
Judge James B. Zagel scheduled a 6 p.m. hearing in his chambers to question attorneys about why the redacted information was readable, according to reports.
But Blagojevich's attorneys denied that interpretation. When asked whether the meeting concerned the redacted documents, attorney Sheldon Sorosky responded simply "no."
The defense motion, filed Thursday afternoon, request to call President Obama as a corroborating witness and argued that Obama could verify that Blagojevich didn't try to sell his seat.
The filing contained several paragraphs that had been blacked out electronically. However, the underlying text was easily viewable in the electronic cersion of the document if a reader simply copied-and-pasted the paragraphs into another program.
The failure to properly redact is a relatively common one in government circles.

In addition, Bill Clinton never forgets and he gets even. Bill hates Obama. If Obama goes and Hillary becomes POTUS then the Clintons come out smelling like a rose. The lib newsmedia will spin it so Obama is the matyr, Clintons are saviors and Repubs are evil.
Just remember that the Clintons are the lesser evil but they are still evil. I would be 70% of America would welcome them with open arms over the Kenyan at this point.
Clinton had a good economy largely due to very cheap oil post Gulf War 1 which was good for at least 5 to 6 years of his term.

I wonder if Obama will pardon him? The only stinker in that picture is Blago has to first go through the court process and get convicted. Maybe they’ll cut a deal. Obama gets to avoid saying anything that incriminates himself and in return he pardons Blago. There’s no way to pardon someone accused of a crime but not convicted yet is there? (BO could invent a special pre-conviction pardon by executive order.)

Exactly. Clinton’s first term really lucked out as the Bush mild recession was ending. It was mainly caused by the energy price spike.
Oil prices tanked to like $10 a barrell and that lasted for at least 4 years. The GOP Congress then kept him in check. Forced him to sign welfare reform.
I am no authority on the subject - just read a few articles re Cap and Trade and the immense value of those carbon trading units. Seems to me that the Chicago Exchange will be making big bucks trading those units. It is also the case that, if the US doesn’t participate in the carbon trading, the people who have already invested large sums into the scheme are going to lose large sums. Do you know if or how that might play a role in what is going on now with Blago and the powers that be in Chicago?

Beginning with how he shut out his oponents in prior races (having sealed divorce records magically unsealed),all the lies as candidate oblablah, including a young man getting shot in the head who was cooperating with the passport investigation, and as you so kindly point out the list just keeps growing exponentially. When is it ever going to stop!!!!!

If Stern wants to live, he had better leave the country, pronto. He will be either indicted or wearing cement overshoes, know what I mean? I doubt the man would ‘roll over’ for Obama.

Good question re: Clinton or Daley & Fitz... One that I don’t know the answer to, or could even guess at, really.
As far as Rahm being mayor — I do think that was a veiled threat of some sort. What’s going on behind the scenes I don’t know. Some pointed to Daley’s wife being sick and Rahm coming in to take his place. Don’t know if Daley is good with that idea. Even with his wife sick I don’t think he’ll give his blessing to anyone he doesn’t think he can’t control behind the scenes. Now, with Rahm being implicated in this subpoena, well, as I said I think that MIGHT be a response. Too many cooks in the kitchen at this point I think... I’m hoping they ALL get burned in the end. Chicago deserves better...
