The Senate is expected to take up a proposal, originally authored by Senator Chris Dodd (D–CT), to reform the financial regulatory system in the U.S. The goal is clear: to minimize the chances that another financial crisis—and bailouts—will arise again.

The objective is a good one. Unfortunately, the 1,408-page bill includes numerous provisions that would hurt—not help—consumers and the economy. It would even make another financial crisis or bailout more likely to occur.

I also heard on Neal Boortz or Mark Levin (can’t remember) that another provision in this bill states something about the bill or the Presidents decisions under this bill can not be reviewed by the judiciary.

Did anyone else hear this?

Sounds screwy to me. Might be considered Constitutional as Congress can say what the purview of the courts is ... however I don’t see the judiciary actually following it as they will want to input their 2 cents worth.

He obviously has lost his mind. No wonder he is resigning, he doesn’t have Kennedy around to tell him what to do.

Dodd, this ass already was a huge part of the current fall of the economy and now this. This bastar@ needs to get the hell out of the Senate.

This clown belongs in federal prison along with his unindicted co-conspirator, Barney Frank. These two fools are the principal reason for collapse of the housing market and the sub-prime mortgage debacle.

I’d have put the over-under WAY above 14 for Dodd’s legislative fatal flaw count.

Why is the objective a good one? What has the government done lately that makes matter’s better? One more new rule or regulation or law just means one more ‘screw up’and the mess becomes an even bigger mess.

He is retiring, but not soon enough. I suppose he wants this abortion as his senatorial legacy. I say get the hell out and don't let the Capitol door hit you in the ass. And take your lobbyist wife with you!
