Is America a Christian nation?
Sarah Palin said on Friday that it's "mind-boggling" to suggest otherwise.
But two groups dedicated to the separation of church and state are now speaking out against her, arguing that she is misreading the founders' intent.
"It's incredibly hypocritical that Sarah Palin, who disapproves of government involvement in just about anything, now suddenly wants the government to help people be religious," Barry Lynn, the executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, told ABC News.
"It is wildly inconsistent with her views on limited government to get the government involved in matters of faith."
Lynn was reacting to remarks Palin gave last Friday in Louisville, Ky., one day after a federal judge in Wisconsin ruled that the National Day of Prayer, created in 1952 by Congress, violated the First Amendment.

Okay, but there is nothing preventing that now. But, there is. Coaches can't even say a prayer before a game with players before a game that want to voluntarily prayer. That shouldn't be happening in the United States of America.
Any two people or group of people should be able to pray voluntarily. There is no reason why a school administrator or teacher can't lead students in prayer.

Its easy to find un-Christlike behavior in any nations history past and present.I didn't say "behavior" makes this nation sick, I said "sanctification" of the behavior does.
It is a fact that this nation and the citizenry do not only commit sinful behavior, but ignore it, excuse it, condone it, encourage it, fund it, protect it, and profit from it. You cannot say a nation is founded on "Judeo-Christian" principals when it actively works against those principals. Furthermore, works of men like the DoI and Constitution are good documents, but they are not the documents used to determine who or what is Christ-like.

America was, in part, founded on Judeo-Christian ideals. They also took into account pretty much every other Civilized Nation and what worked, or didn't, there.

Not nice! SARAH is a Christian - goes by The Bible, Gods Word - as all Christians are commanded to do - and not the doctrine of man.
I think Sarah Palin may be ignorant on the issue of artificial birth control, not intentionally going against Life, but it would be wrong to say I am a Christian, for instance, if I supported any means that ends the life of a child, which artificial birth control does. You can't be 100% pro-life and believe in the usage of artificial birth control, and since Christ is the initiator of Life, He obviously would not go along with any means that would take it away either.
Sarah Palin is very much a true American, and there's not many people I'd vote for before her, unless one came along that was 100% pro-Life. But to say America is a Christian nation, while we sit back and ruthlessly kill thousands of babies a day through abortion is a bit of a stretch.

Your point is kind of extreme, it seems to imply that without 100% catholic orthodoxy you can't be pro-life. Just wondering, what do you think of liberal catholic politicians who vote pro-choice, yet they still consistently go to Mass?

You aren’t getting it - besides you not knowing what Sarah does in her private life - YOU are making the rules and taking what man says and making it gospel.
I have no time, nor inclination in going into this discussion - just be advised - you are going into a territory with a lack of knowledge - and smearing someone because of it. You want to discuss ‘sin’ and what is not pleasing to God?
Now, you can never say you didn’t know - so you are held accountable.
Christians follow Christ, Christ is the Living Word, Christians following His Teachings in His Living Word. My sheep hear MY voice and they follow ME. His sheep are the church, His Body, He is The Head -cornerstone of the church/His Body. The church/His body does not make the rules, we follow His.

Just finished going thru "The Truth Project." The United States was explicitly founded as a Christian nation.

You lack knowledge; yet, you have no problem smearing someone because of it. Read up on what Christ said to ‘the religious’ - they were not pleasing in His sight. Their laws vs. His Word.

It wasn't until I investigated the Catholic faith (I was previously a Protestant for decades), that everything pieced together with so much solidity regarding Life issues, I couldn't ignore it. As far as the "liberal catholic politicians who vote pro-choice, yet they still consistently go to Mass," I leave this quote:
"All the evil in the world can be attributed to lukewarm Catholics" --St. Pius V.
I like to keep track of Michael Voris and his Vortex tapes:
Link.
Michael Voris isn't a politician, but I like his style, and am behind any politician interested in fighting cocky (not so much with cocky), but with Christ.

I’m smearing no one. “Thou shalt not kill” means via an abortion, via the birth control pill, and every other means that causes loss of Life. Christ’s rules/laws/commandments are not that complicated, and they come directly from God. Are you denying they exist?

I am definitely voting for Sarah if I get a chance. I’m so conservative that I used to have 2nd thoughts about a woman politician. But Sarah has proven she has more intestinal fortitude than the next 50 men candidates combined. She is our own dear “Maggie Thatcher” and we are blessed to have her in our political system. Liberal women and feminazis can have their cute little slogans about “fryin’ it up and a pan”, etc, but Sarah actually does it. Keep going “huntress of the North” and Jean of Arc of America!

God forbid we be a Christian nation as we have been for over 200 years .. we have to be a Muslim nation now so Obama can be happy.
