So, why is Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff so confident that Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah) is on track to lose at the state GOP convention on May 8? I got an early look at a survey of state GOP delegates conducted by a Utah firm. It's not pretty.
When more than 1,000 delegates were polled on their choices in the Senate race, only 15 percent chose Bennett. When asked for a second choice, only 5 percent picked Bennett. In the first test, he's barely in the top three, which raises the possibility of the three-term senator getting knocked out of the convention in the first round of voting. The frontrunner is Mike Lee, a first-time candidate who gets 35 percent of first-choice votes and 22 percent of second-choice votes.
"Mike Lee is the frontunner," said Chuck Warren, a Utah political consultant whose Silver Bullet firm conducted the poll. "He's the only one I see who can get to 60 percent at the convention."
Why does the 60 percent number matter? Theoretically, Bennett can lose at the convention and win the GOP primary in June. Indeed, that's what former congressman Chris Cannon did in 2006. But if a candidate gets to 60 percent in several rounds of voting, he is the nominee -- there's no primary. The best hope for Bennett might be surviving to the final round and holding Lee to 59 percent in a two-way race

THis is excellent news. Utah voters need to throw out the pro-amnesty RINO Bennett.
I listened to one of Mike Lee’s youtube speech. What he says about using the Constitution as a litmus test for every piece of legislation sounds great to me. I hope he beats Bennett.
I think everyone is pretty much fed up with most of these so called representatives who have sold us down the river to the Globalists.
PASS THE WORD To tea partiers, 9/12 marchers, pro-lifers; defense of marriage, 2nd amendment, anti-ObamaCare, anti-amnesty, anti-cap/trade conservatives. It's in our hands to dictate the terms by which we support candidates.
HOLD CANDIDATES' FEET TO THE FIRE These are the terms under which we conservatives permit candidates to earn our support:
(1) Your conservative group holds an official position within the campaign;
(2) Your group's issue is affirmed in the candidate's platform;
(3) Your group is in attendance at all campaign strategy meetings;
(4) Your group holds a paid job in the campaign;
(5) Your group holds a paid position in the winning candidate's elective office.
(6) The candidate must renounce RINOS and pukeneos before he/she gets conservative endorsement.

HOW TO HANDLE THE RNC
When RNC fundraisers call or write, simply reply: "In lieu of a contribution, a donation in your name is being sent to the 9/12 Movement, Tea Party, Right to Life Committee, 2nd Amendment Committee, Scott Brown Relection Committee, etc."
How bad is it for Bennett? He’s ALREADY running negative radio ads against Lee. Goodbye Bob.
Utah taking out the RINO garbage. Let’s hope AZ follows UT.
Geographically, I think it may be the most sane area of the country. What's in the water there?
People ask for term limits yet every 2 years, we have a chance to throw one bum or another out of office. Good to see the system work!
I like that. Actually, that's what they all swore an oath to do; they just didn't mean it.
Amen, Amen, Amen
At the very least, it will be healthy for him to feel a little heat. (Ideally all elected officials should worry about losing their jobs. Just look at what results we get, when they largely DON’T worry.)

I’ll tell you what is NOT in the water here - fluoride.
I think the addition of fluoride to most of the US water supply in the 1960’s was a nefarious plot after the libs accidentally discovered that it caused enough brain damage to cause right thinking people to get all squishy and turn liberal.
So what if we have lots of cavities, we’re CONSERVATIVE dammit ;-)

A good percentage of the Rocky Mountains, I think. :)
There is no reason that we should have to put up with a squishy RINO from Utah.
After years and years of drinking Mountain Dew combined with a near phobia of going to the dentist, my credentials will be without question! If it gets much worse, I may get deported to West Virgina.
I agree. We aren’t going to have a political revolution led by a bunch of tired compromising old men.
