Fox News’ Megyn Kelly has finally broken the wall of silence on major news coverage of the brutal beating of Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal’s top fundraising staffer. A full transcript follows below.
Della Burning, mother of Jindal staffer Allee Bautsch, confirmed that her daughter had been savagely beaten. She refused to discuss whether or not politics were involved (although at one point in the interview she did say the report was “accurate” when New Orleans Police Information Officer said slurs hurled at her daughter during the attack were “political in nature”).
Burning confirmed her daughter's leg is broken in four places and she has five surgical scars and a steel rod now running from her knee to her ankle with seven screws holding it all in place. Burning also confirmed that the attackers did not rob her daughter or her daughter’s boyfriend.
The attack happened one week ago today as Bautsch and her boyfriend left a $10,000-per-plate Republican fundraiser at Brennan’s Restaurant in the French Quarter where a local group of anarchists, the Iron Rail Collective, were among radical leftist groups that organized a protest outside. Attendees had to run a gauntlet of these aggressive protesters hurling slurs as they left the event. KELLY: One reporter says that he spoke with the Public Information Officer at the New Orleans Police and that Public Information Officer said that insults of a political nature had been hurled at your daughter and her boyfriend during the attack. Do you have any problem with that report?
BURNING: Honestly this is not a Republican or Democrat problem, this is a problem that a young girl and her boyfriend were attacked and the story hasn’t really come out. And I just want to make sure that these guys are found. That’s the important part of this. There is accuracy in the story. I just think that yes when you do the investigation you do look at the people who were in the area at the time, to be able to bring the right people in for questioning. That’s the really important part.

KELLY: We certainly hope so. Della how’s your daughter doing?
BURNING: This was very serious. She has four breaks in her leg. It’s her left leg. She has a rod that goes down the entire center of her leg with seven screws. She has a screw through her entire ankle.
KELLY: Oh, my goodness…
BURNING: For a mother, it’s a lot… you know the recovery is enormous. She has five different scars that she’ll have from this. So this isn’t just something that, you know, that she was pushed down on the ground or something or that she fell. That is not the case.
KELLY: They were stomping her.
BURNING: Joseph and Allee, it was such a terrible thing that, I think that coming out of it, it took a really long time to even be able to make sense of the whole thing. You can understand when something like that happens to you.
KELLY: I know that the report says she broke her leg in five places, he broke his nose, as well…
BURNING: He has a fractured jaw, a broken nose, a black eye…

Anarchists are just young socialists with too much spare time and energy on their hands.
Did they spit at them and call them the “n” word? How horrible! Oh, wait. That was a faux political outrage story that was totally fabricated but covered wall-to-wall a couple of weeks ago. Never mind.
Republicans won’t act until a few elected officials get bumped off.
So far, only lowly citizens have been robbed, raped and murdered by the illegals and the drug cartels so the border does not matter yet. They won’t care about political voilence until they get it in their own families. In situations like this, they can wait until it is too late to stop it. Check out Chavez.
These guys need to wake up and realize that the days of collegiality being a reasonable thing are about over. It should have been obvious after what Bush’s reaching across the aisle got him.

Many of the communists will feign a patriotic ideology to save their skin. The progressives will fade into the background and emerge later in time when it is politically expedient. The patriots willl become complacent.

My guess is the mother is quiet because she is on the wrong side of the NOLA and National political divide. She wants the perps caught most of all and fears if she makes it political the Democrats will, as they always do, close ranks and justice will not be done.

Louisiana GOP Chair Villere: “Protesters came after us, but we managed to get away in a cab.”

In an interview this afternoon, Louisiana GOP Chair Roger Villere, Jr. told Lincoln Parish News Online his party was pursued by protesters last Friday night after a political fundraiser, but managed to get into a cab and avoid the mob. “We started to leave out the front door after the event, but the protesters had us blocked – there were six of us in our party – so we went out through the kitchen,” Villere said. Once they got outside, the protesters spotted them and began to pursue them, but they managed to get into a cab and avoid confrontation.
Later in the evening Allee Bautsch and Joe Brown were brutally beaten on the sidewalk outside the Louisiana State Supreme Court building, mere steps away from where protests had taken place.
Villere hosted the fund -raising event last Friday night in a French Quarter restaurant that was attended by Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour and Texas Governor Rick Perry.
Villere opined that what started out as a peaceful protest was infiltrated by “professional agitators” who were in New Orleans to protest the Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC) that was held last weekend.
In other developments, the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) released the preliminary report of the crime. Also today, Fox News interviewed Della Burning, mother of victim Allee Bautsch. More updates are also available on The Hayride.

The mother has been quiet because she is afraid.
Perhaps some of the anarchists from the Iron Rail Collective acted stupidly. Surely we can’t jump to conclusions about this entire group based upon the actions of a few misguided individuals. /S

And with obama saying we should be thanking him yesterday for tax cuts . . . he makes me so very angry like I’ve never felt in my life. I’ve never heard a leader of the USA treat Americans with such utter disrespect.
My husband and I went to a tea party yesterday and when the TPEIII rolled through town last week and everyone there is honest, hard working, patriotic & America loving folks. What is wrong with the other side? I’ve never seen it this bad until the Bush years.
