Goldman Sachs to Harry Reid: Back Off
http://www.politico.com/ ^ | 4/13/10 | By MANU RAJU

The Senate Majority leader, who’s getting pounced in the polls over his support for president Obama’s health-care plan and is now facing an uphill battle for re-election in his home state of Nevada, thought he was coming to friendly territory. He is, after all, a Democrat and a recent fundraiser in New York City was set up by Gary Cohn, president of Goldman Sachs (GS: 184.865, -0.097, -0.05%) and himself a long-time Democrat.

But the reception Reid received from Goldman was anything but friendly.

According to people with direct knowledge of the incident, during the event, which was held in a private room at a lower Manhattan restaurant, Reid was verbally harangued by several senior Goldman executives, including Cohn himself, for being part of the growing chorus of politicians who are using anti-Wall Street rhetoric to score political points.

One of the attendees told Reid that Wall Street, and Goldman in particular, is being “persecuted by the Democratic Party.” Another complained that Goldman, as a “long-term, major supporter of the Democratic Party,” was tired of being publicly attacked.

The Democrats are acting like they are the enemies of Wallstreet. This is an outright lie. They are the enablers of so of the worst practices on Wallstreet and did everything they could like many Republicans to bail out their buddies rather than let their assets be sold off to the lowest bidder which is what they deserved.

Exactly, this is a false story planted by the Dems to make it look like the finance bill is bad for wall street and great for main street. What a joke.

Hey GS, now is your time to speak out in public. If not, you will be merely the first of the persecuted. From the banks all the way down to the street cleaners.

It isn’t bad for those at the top of these companies. It guarantees zero risk for them.

Yup, they want everyone to think they are fighting Wall Street, when big money and big business are the RAT's bosum-buddies. Classic RAT misdirection PR.

RATs and big Wall Street money are tighter than the cheeks on Joan Rivers face.

Goldman Sachs is, perhaps, the most ruthless, evil corporation to ever exist in this country.

Look up “The Great American Bubble Machine” to get a detailed explanation as to why that is true.

Starting with the Great Depression, Sachs has been deeply and directly involved in creating these economic calamities: tech stock bubble, the housing craze, gas price explosion and rigging the bailout.

Next up for them is using various forms of influence to get a cap and trade bill passed so that they can trade carbon credits like commodities.

Calling them evil is rather kind.

Politicians were supposed to turn over our Treasury with a bow and a smile to the banksters, I suppose.

As far as I am concerned, “Wall Street” is no longer “free market” and I no longer blindly trust nor respect their interest now that their interest is cheating and picking my pocket after they crash and burn everything. In addition. they used their wealth and media to put a marxist in the White House. Screw Wall Street.

Don’t worry they still will. This “financial reform” bill lays the ground work to guarantee that those in WallStreet will be even more involved in the political process. If they get this through the political class will have an even bigger bargaining chip for fund raising. Also the so called reform bill will require almost 1/2 a trillion dollars to implement all the new agencies and offices.

“The first thing you need to know about Goldman Sachs is that it’s everywhere.

**********The world’s most powerful investment bank is a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money. **************

In fact, the history of the recent financial crisis, which doubles as a history of the rapid decline and fall of the suddenly swindled-dry American empire, reads like a Who’s Who of Goldman Sachs graduates.”

Opensecrets.org still says Obama's #2 campaign contributor is....drum roll please.....Goldman Sachs.

Think he's gonna step on their toes for real? I'm thinkin' NOT.

I wonder how many of The One's fans know this little factoid about him....probably the same number who knew the answers to simple questions in the "How Obama Got Elected" videos.

The Dims might demagogue GS in public, especially the desperate ones like Harry "Land Deal" Reid, but what's going on behind the scenes?
