GOP operatives crash the tea party
Politico ^ | 4-14-2010 | KENNETH P. VOGEL

Posted on 04/15/2010 6:24:41 AM PDT by Brookhaven

Just days after the first widespread tea party demonstrators hit the streets a year ago Thursday, Joe Wierzbicki, a Republican political consultant with the Sacramento firm Russo Marsh + Rogers, made a proposal to his colleagues that he said could “give a boost to our PAC and position us as a growing force/leading force as the 2010 elections come into focus.”

The proposal, obtained by POLITICO, was for a nationwide tea party bus tour, to be called the Tea Party Express, which over the past seven months has become among the most identifiable brands of the tea party movement. Buses emblazoned with the Tea Party Express logo have brought speakers and entertainers to rallies in dozens of small towns and big cities, including one in Boston on Wednesday that will feature former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

I am a really, really thrifty person but if someone is offering something for money that I find beneficial, I will pay for it and if that someone makes a profit, good for them.

If a Tea Partier was selling hot dogs and soda during a rally and I was hungry, I’d buy them and hope they were making money. At least I’d know that the money was going to someone who supports Capitalism.

I saw this was the lead story on Olberman last night. He is pushing it as some evil plot.

Yes, the Left is QUITE creative when it comes to their little Conspiracies, like:

— The GOP intends to crash Conservative Tea Party Rallies in order to place blame the Democrats, while also preserving the GOP leadership's own RINO power-base

Global Warming

Dick Cheney's "heart attacks" are actually long-term lung injuries he received while SCUBA training to blow up the dams in New Orleans

Halliburton's hurricane machine (Katrina)

9/11 Truthers

Soros' 2010 October Surprise will be to have Obama pull a copy of an original Birth Certificate out of his back pocket, proving he's been TRUTHFUL the WHOLE time, just to embarrass Conservatives and thereby win the 2010 election (yes, this is really on some Left-wing websites AND was also "threatened" against the Hillary campaign in 2008)

I don’t see a problem here. The Tea Party Express (TPE) is what it is. Go to one of their rallies or else don’t. Give them a buck or else don’t. What’s the beef?

Organizing and operating the TPE costs money and requires talent and man-hours. There is nothing wrong with skilled, working people getting paid.

If others think they have ideas that will help our country better than the TPE then let them go for it. The people can decide who to support with their donations.

This article seems to say that the relationship between the TPE PAC and the consulting firm that organized it is normal and that the money spent is typical for this type of operation. What’s the beef?

Notice that the MSM and “non-biased” blogs like Politico (ha) were silent over Soros, CPUSA, etc backing different protest organizations.

The Pravda Media lies. Lies by omission are lies as well.

They can type of their talking points to cause suspicion but they can't diffuse the spirit.

TPE, FWorks and AFP have been instrumental in paying for folks to get to D.C. and other cities. The protests would have been less impressive with fewer people. The left has NO grassroots protests. they are ALL bankrolled by fatcat unions and 501c3 orgs. Every time. But of course the Media dutifully portrays these events as "grassroots".

Much ado about nothing, imho. And by the way, I saw Debbie Dooley of TPP on CBS, and she came across as a nutcase. Someone tell her to take her meds.

As long as the participants main goal is to vote out socialists, why care who crashes? The more the merrier!

If you see one guy jaywalking, and another mugging an 85-year-old lady, do you attack them both just as vigorously?

Who cares what the Left says about the Tea Parties? Ignore them. The only power they have is if you take them seriously, which I don’t. I haven’t heard an honest criticism of the Tea Party movement from the Left yet - and I won’t.

We can do both - cleaning out the GOP of its elitists while realizing the ultimate goal is cleaning out the entire government.

Pretty simple strategy, actually,

campaign and vote against the RINO in the primary
and against the ‘rat in the general.

A little hypocritical, don't you think, considering the left regularly buses in union thugs and other radicals for their protests and have even gone as far as bribing them for their votes.

I can agree with that. It makes me sick to see that the largest earmarker in the Senate is Thad Cochran, (R) MS. RINOs are making it pretty difficult to revive the majorities we had and blew.

This can’t be repeated often enough.

Sometimes, when they attack like this, the correct answer is, “So what?” or, “What’s wrong with that?” instead of people getting defensive.

Best reply for diffusing Liberals. Conservatives don't need to be defensive, but Liberals do!

"Why are you concerned about this?" or "How are you involved?" Turn the tables on the Liberals and recall Saul Alinsky's statement that the aggressor sets the rules. A person can go on the offensive without being mean-spirited. Well, Conservatives can. I don't think I've met a true Liberal that hasn't resorted to some kind of mean or ugly statement directed to the person rather than to the person's principles, morals or ethics. I'm friends with a few Liberals and if we discuss politics the discussion always ends with my friends questioning MY intelligence. I just smile and tell them I won't argue because in the end, the truth will come out.

$$$$$

Precisely. All they know how to do is “fight.” So they attack. In every way they can possibly think of. If one of their attacks doesn’t brush us back, another one will.

We have to STOP trying to appease them, and start standing our ground, and pushing forward.

Joe Wierzbicki (of the Tea Party Express) is a long time FReeper as are many other Tea Party members. FReepers were tea partiers long before the Tea Party movement was formed.

That’s correct. The Democrat mugger is simply redistributing the wealth to himself. I’m sure the rock of crack he buys has a larger profit potential than the cans of dog food she was going to go buy for dinner....
