Palin urges less government, lower taxes at Boston Common Tea Party rally

Palin received a warm welcome from the crowd. She said she wanted to tell President Obama, "We'll keep clinging to our Constitution, and our guns and religion, and you can keep the change.

Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin criticized the Obama administration and the Democratic-led Congress today at a Tea Party rally on Boston Common, saying the government had been on a "spending spree" and warning of future tax increases.

"Americans now spend 100 days out of the year working for government before we even start working for ourselves," she said. "It is time to remind [elected officials] that government should be working for us, we should not have to work for the government. That's why there are more and more patriots every day standing up and speaking out."

"We believe in expanding freedom and opportunity for all, not the intrusive reach of government into our lives and businesses," she said.

It was one of the best political speeches I’ve ever heard, and that includes left and right. I’d place it in the same category as Teddy’s speech at the DNC in ‘80. Politics aside, that was a great speech and this, today was as good. It was delivered impeccably without teleprompter. The delivery rose and fell in line with the content of the speech. It was, in every real sense, a call to arms. It was fitting it was given in Boston. I feel now that Sarah Palin is the Sam Adams of 2010 America. Never destined to govern, but to be the agent of Liberty

Crowd size?

It looked like several dozen, a few of whom were not just strolling through Boston Common or reporters covering the fringe Teabagger movement. [Did I do it right? Can I get a job in journalism?]

Just heard her entire speech today thanks to your link above to the Boston media outlet...WOW! She ‘done’ good! Really good. I think it was exceptional...hit the heart of the matter...and the ‘all alinsky all the time’ remark was dead on center! Thanks for the posting.
