Our betters in the blogosphere and mainstream media have spent the afternoon tut-tutting those of us who suspect a political angle to the savage attack on Republican Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's chief fundraiser Allee Bautsch and her boyfriend Joe Brown last Friday night after a fundraising dinner in New Orleans.
The Hayride, for those who haven't noticed, has not retracted their report that the couple was attacked for wearing Sarah Palin pins, even though a spokesman for Gov. Jindal has put out e-mails to select reporters and bloggers saying they were not wearing Palin pins.
This evening, the New Orleans Police Department released a statement pleading with the public for information about the attack. The description by the police of the incident does not describe a robbery, but it also does not say what exactly precipitated the attack, nor does it report a motive.
The statement does describe the attackers as a group of "Caucasian" men, one of whom was described as "dirty" and wearing a beard and ponytail.
That describes a typical leftwing protester of the type that were hanging outside the Republican fundraiser taunting attendees.
Here is the Police statement in full, courtesy of WWL-AM 870:
Superintendent Warren J. Riley and members of the New Orleans Police are asking the publics assistance in locating and identifying several suspects wanted in connection with an incident that occurred in the 600 block of Saint Louis Street . The incident occurred Friday April 9, 2010, at approximately 10:45 P.M.
According to investigators, the victims were walking from a function at a restaurant in the 400 block of Royal Street . When they entered the 600 block of Saint Louis Street , three to five Caucasian males made derogatory comments to the 25-year-old female and her 28-year-old male friend. When the male victim turned towards the group of men, one or more of the suspects struck the victim several times. At some point the female victim fell to the ground and screamed. The suspects then fled on foot. Officers in the area heard the female screaming and responded to the scene and broadcasted a description of the suspects and requested Emergency Medical Paramedics. As the female was waiting for EMS , she used her purse as a pillow. When the victim was in the ambulance, she discovered her purse was missing.
The female was transported to a hospital where she was treated for a broken leg. The male victim was also transported to the hospital and was treated for a mild concussion, fractured jaw and nose.
One of the suspects was described as a Caucasian male who appeared to be dirty, in his 20s, 61 tall, thin build with a thin face. He had a beard and auburn color hair in a pony tail. He was wearing a light color T shirt and dark color pants.
The incident is on-going and detectives are in the process of determining if any surveillance cameras captured the incident.
Investigators are currently working on the incident and at this time the report is not available. Notification will be made to the media when the report is complete and ready for dissemination.
Investigators are in the process of identifying the suspects, as well as a motive. Eighth District Detective Sergeant Nicholas Gernon is in charge of the investigation. Citizens with information that can help solve this crime are asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111, toll-free 1-877-903-STOP(7867). You could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500.00 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the responsible person(s). You do not have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward.
BTW, Media Matters can kiss me on both cheeks for attacking Gateway Pundit and Free Republic for our reporting on the brutal attack. (Title: When Gateway Pundit quotes Free Republic, you know the truth is going to lose)

Is there any way these can be copied and sent to someone, i.e. the folks who were attacked for i.d. purposes?
bttt
I’d bookmark the Flickr page, or at least alert the NOLA police to it. Of course, note the Flickr acct. name as well. She may very well close the acct. now that its been made public. The police will need to know in case they need the evidence.
Nothing pretty about hate-filled, reason-challenged 'people'. And we know, from all signs along with accompanying viral rhetoric; including that from America's current occupant of White House who never misses a chance to make a bad situation, worse; that it is not going to get better. . .
Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it - and destroy it. . .
They will need each and every photo copied before the Flickr account it deleted. Any good tech-minded FReepers who can do this in a hurry?
When they invade your space walk off, at an angle, through your side. Puts them at a disadvantage in pursuit, puts quick distance between you and the aggressor and places more people between the aggressor and the target.
Whew. ..but yes, good points to remember and follow.
The Democrats have historically been a racist party. From Andrew Jackson through the secessionists, the Confederate government, the segregationists and the lynchers, the racists in this country have been Democrats. Nowadays they pound their chests and loudly proclaim that they are the only non-racists in society. They’re a bunch of lying hypocrites.
It truly is hard to understand the level; the sheer numbers of people who live, breath Leftist hate. I wonder if they are redeemable human beings; or simply forever devoid of civility and humanity.
It looks like some NO Freepers need to start checking out some books from the anarchist co-op.
I have pondered the same and I think they’re beyond redemption.
“...MLK was registered as a Republican...”
I bet his murderer was a Democrat!
an organized anarchist collective that has meetings? Sounds to me to be a lot like corporate structure and useless senseless meetings to plan the plan’s planny plan...
Hey oxy... look at that moron!
Done, but the images are small. I’m going to try something else.
I have 60 photos copied now in html format.
Awesome!!!!!!!!
I was wondering that, too.
Quite possibly.
The less said about Palin pin the better; IMHO. This in itself could take on a 'life of it's own; and not a pretty one. (Why make a Sarah pin, any more of a hate target?)
First and foremost; these people were targeted; as Republican; and taunted/baited, as well, no doubt; as victim who was vulnerable/attractive and blond and with male companion - for these mindless perps; an additional adrenaline pumping challenge. That is enough story. (That said, think going from confusion in story to 'stolen Palin pins' a hasty leap of judgment!)
Jindal no doubt, IS left to diffuse rhetoric until coherent facts assembled. These venomous people are dangerous. No reason to give them more 'target' Sarah or otherwise - when being Republican is more than enough.
