Our betters in the blogosphere and mainstream media have spent the afternoon tut-tutting those of us who suspect a political angle to the savage attack on Republican Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's chief fundraiser Allee Bautsch and her boyfriend Joe Brown last Friday night after a fundraising dinner in New Orleans.
The Hayride, for those who haven't noticed, has not retracted their report that the couple was attacked for wearing Sarah Palin pins, even though a spokesman for Gov. Jindal has put out e-mails to select reporters and bloggers saying they were not wearing Palin pins.
This evening, the New Orleans Police Department released a statement pleading with the public for information about the attack. The description by the police of the incident does not describe a robbery, but it also does not say what exactly precipitated the attack, nor does it report a motive.
The statement does describe the attackers as a group of "Caucasian" men, one of whom was described as "dirty" and wearing a beard and ponytail.
That describes a typical leftwing protester of the type that were hanging outside the Republican fundraiser taunting attendees.

Superintendent Warren J. Riley and members of the New Orleans Police are asking the public�s assistance in locating and identifying several suspects wanted in connection with an incident that occurred in the 600 block of Saint Louis Street . The incident occurred Friday April 9, 2010, at approximately 10:45 P.M.
According to investigators, the victims were walking from a function at a restaurant in the 400 block of Royal Street . When they entered the 600 block of Saint Louis Street , three to five Caucasian males made derogatory comments to the 25-year-old female and her 28-year-old male friend. When the male victim turned towards the group of men, one or more of the suspects struck the victim several times. At some point the female victim fell to the ground and screamed. The suspects then fled on foot. Officers in the area heard the female screaming and responded to the scene and broadcasted a description of the suspects and requested Emergency Medical Paramedics. As the female was waiting for EMS , she used her purse as a pillow. When the victim was in the ambulance, she discovered her purse was missing.
The female was transported to a hospital where she was treated for a broken leg. The male victim was also transported to the hospital and was treated for a mild concussion, fractured jaw and nose.
One of the suspects was described as a Caucasian male who appeared to be dirty, in his 20�s, 6�1� tall, thin build with a thin face. He had a beard and auburn color hair in a pony tail. He was wearing a light color T shirt and dark color pants.
The incident is on-going and detectives are in the process of determining if any surveillance cameras captured the incident.
Investigators are currently working on the incident and at this time the report is not available. Notification will be made to the media when the report is complete and ready for dissemination.
Investigators are in the process of identifying the suspects, as well as a motive. Eighth District Detective Sergeant Nicholas Gernon is in charge of the investigation. Citizens with information that can help solve this crime are asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111, toll-free 1-877-903-STOP(7867). You could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500.00 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the responsible person(s). You do not have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward.

UPDATE, 8:47 p.m. Now we have art and a description of the Brennan’s protest from someone who was there. Via Gateway Pundit, there’s this:
I am the photographer for the LA GOP and I was at the Brennan fundraiser. When I left about one hour or so after all 3 of the governors left the crowd of protesters had grown. The were very nasty, signs were vulgar using the “F” word. As I left the restaurant I was yelled at – there was a family visiting the restaurant with a baby stroller – they had nothing to do with the fundraiser and they were being heckled using the “F” and “MF” words.. A couple of them made comments to me.

Contrary to the original article, the email you posted does not comport with:

And Malkin wrote that the Palin pins were an “allegation” but not yet proved as “fact”-
but the “pins theory” has not been repudiated at this time.

Can one register as a Republican in GA or AL? He choose a party by voting in the primary of his choice, same as in TX, MS, and AR. There were no Republican primaries in GA or AL at the time of King, were there? I think it was King, Sr., who had voted Republican.
If it was “left behind” it wasnt for long, as you suggested, but this is a loose end of the story that doesn’t jive- imo.

Keep in mind that the Black Codes were in effect at the time. To get registered to vote you had to pass test ( "how many peanuts are in this jar") Blacks could never get the answers right. the Republican party, however, was registering everyone so all blacks who wanted to vote were Republicans.
Condoleeza Rice did a great interview on Leno last year. Leno asked her if she was the first Republican in her family and she absolutely schooled him on why her and her family were all loyal Republicans. You could tell all of what she was saying was the first he had ever heard any of this.
I had a friend from church (black) that worked as a stock boy in a small general store back then and he was told to count out 200 nails and put them in a box one day. A couple of days later he found out that the box of nails was the test the Democrats were giving to get to register so he told all of his family and friends that he put 200 nails in the box. Not one of them guessed correctly.
That is the true history of the Left.

Prayers to the staffers for a full recovery. I'm puzzled by Jindal's spokesperson saying the victims were not wearing Palin buttons. Maybe those were stolen as well. Sounds like another episode of missing W buttons on the computer and the republican doesn't want to make a big stink about it. Shame on Jindal if he's trying to defuse the situation. People need to speak up!
