A new CNN/Opinion Research poll tests some 2012 general election matchups for the first time, and finds that President Obama leads four potential foes: Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee.
2012 Presidential General Election Matchup (907 RVs, 4/9-11, MoE +/- 3.5%) Obama 53 -- Romney 45 Obama 54 -- Huckabee 45 Obama 55 -- Palin 42 Obama 55 -- Gingrich 43

I like Daniels from Indiana and Otter from Idaho. I doubt either will run.
oh yeah i like Daniels too
forgot about him from what i hear he did a great job in Indiana
i am glad someone posted something a little more constructive than impugning my good name
I don’t care for anything CNN has to say. Zero probably asked them to do this story for him. To dishearten all conservatives.
None of these are potential foes and 2012 is a long time away. It is worthless to post or report this. Nov 2 2010 is all that matters now.
Oh, YES, let’s let the media keep picking the GOP candidates, they’ve done SUCH a great job so far!
how the heck is it worthless to post? people post polls on this thing everyday for crying out loud.
certainly got a lot of people talking. got you here posting a response
No, not one.
Favorable Ratings
Obama 57 / 41
Pelosi 38 / 50
Reid 28 / 35
H. Clinton 61 / 35
Palin 39 / 55
Romney 40 / 34
Huckabee 43 / 29
Gingrich 38 / 38
Primary Ballots: If Obama does NOT attach a copy of his Hawaii long form birth certificate to his presidential application, I believe that in many states Obama will NOT be allowed to even get his name on the primary ballots.
It doesn’t even say who was polled. Bet it wasn’t likely voters. MSM trying to rehabilitate the O’s popularity.
The presidential election is a long way off, and some really great “dark horse” candidate may appear that would beat the snot out of O (figuratively speaking).

The above 2012 poll was done by a Dem polling firm before the health care disaster passed. O’s and the Dems’ numbers have steadily dropped since this poll was completed, I don’t buy CNN’s numbers, they don’t make sense.
Huck or romney same difference. The msm commies want us to have a pubbie socialist as prez candidate that way they get a socialist either way.
It is worthless because it is like making a prediction on who is going to win the Super Bowl three years from now. Total uncertainty.
And that’s the big problem.
People are falling out of favor of Obama’s policies and ideas. But his likability remains high. People like him as a person.
On the GOP side, there is no one with high likability marks, at least right now. That’s what will make 2012 very difficult.
probably
i am hoping someone new enters the fray
i like John Thune and someone i forgot completely about Mitch Daniels
at least from what i know of them
though to be honest i am hoping that anyone who wins the R nomination wins the general in a landslide
I think people here are being naive. This is NOT going to be a slam dunk.
THe only reason they published this: Palin was last.

What would anyone expect with the media trashing she’s received? Given an opportunity to campaign and expose her depth on issues, she will repair the unfavorables. It’s all in how they phrase the question. If they asked who would you vote for to stop reckless spending or who do you trust to defend the constitution and end big government, a completely different result would have been obtained. That is what the election of 2012 will be about.
