Rand Paul Builds Double-Digit Lead in Race for Kentucky GOP Senate Nod

Rand Paul, son of Texas Rep. Ron Paul and a favorite of the Tea Party movement, has built a big lead over Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the race for the GOP Senate nomination in Kentucky, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted April 9-11.

The race has been depicted as a test of the movement's influence, pitting a candidate trying to capitalize on the voter anger it reflects against an establishment Republican who has won re-election to his position three times. Grayson has fought back with TV ads honing in on Paul's "strange ideas," such as saying "Paul even wonders whether 9/11 was our fault."

Paul is ahead of Grayson by 45 percent to 30 percent with 6 percent for three other candidates and 19 percent undecided.

Conservatives favor Paul by 51 percent to 29 percent with 16 percent undecided. Those who attend religious services regularly or occasionally favor Paul by double-digit margins. Gun owners back Paul 48 percent to 22 percent with 22 percent undecided. There is an income gap between Paul and Grayson supporters: Paul leads among Kentuckians earning less than $50,000 a year by 49 percent to 22 percent with 21 percent undecided, but his margin is much smaller (42 percent to 38 percent) among those earning over $50,000.

Who cares what you think? You’re sick in the head. Just stay away from my posts and do not refer to me and we’ll be fine.

Funny thing is, I’ve been accused of the same by the Cult of Paul. They must be working from a handbook.

The poster fits the template perfectly: promote the Pauls, bash all Republicans and remain silent on democrats.

In reference to forum behavior, he's a stalker/ankle-biter/harasser, following the time-honored trollish stalinism of purging all who disagree.

Senator Bunning has endorsed Rand Paul?
If as a Ky voter I had any misgivings before, I am now a “Paulite” I guess.
Jim Bunning is probably the most totally decent and honest man in the US Senate.
Obviously Grayson was the one chosen by the RINOS who cut Bunning off at the knees.
That Senator Jim Bunning endorses Ron Paul tells me that Grayson was a willing and active participant in that infamous political kneecapping.

If you're not actually Amish, then -- perhaps you should be re-named "ApostateDude"?

I mean, I'd hate for people to think that you were actually a member of a conservative, Christian religious community, and then be led astray by your virulent, atheistic bashing of good Christians and Conservatives.

You might be mistaken for a "concern troll".

Oh, yes, you are a “good Christian”. Why all I have to do is to ask you.

You will also note that a truly intelligent person might note that the Amish don’t frequent internet message boards too often. There is a reason for this. Can you guess what it is?

Not every Amish believer is "Old Order" Amish. Much wireless connectivity is permitted amongst many of the Non-"Old Order" Amish -- as long as they're not "connected" by physical wire to the sinful world. You see them driving around in their buggies, talking on their cell phones. (Seriously).

But then how would you know that?
You're not even Christian at all, are you?

At any rate, we've established one thing about you for certain: in terms of your screen name, you are NOT who you say you are.

Your attacks on me were nothing more than the blame-displacement projections of a troll, all along. Because guess what: I really AM Christian, and I really AM Capitalist.

The only thing we really know for sure about you, on the other hand, is that your screen name is a Lie.
And, apparently, that you consider the Amish to be a joke.

Actually, this is not quite true. Using technology as a part of the business is sometimes permitted by the local bishop. Personal use is right out. The internet would also be out unless they have a website for a business co-owned by a non-Amish.

You keep trying to establish my bona fides, but I ask you, would it matter if I weren't Christian? I have never staked any of my positions on theology. But I think that if I were not Christian that you would very much discount my views.

In fact, I think you would dismiss me out of hand if I happened to be, oh, I don't know, Jooooooooooish.

One thing about the Amish, they kinda like Jews. But I know somebody who doesn't...

I think that it's dishonest for someone who uses a Christian denomination screen name, who isn't at all Christian himself, to be impugning the Christianity of those who actually ARE Christian.

In fact, I think you would dismiss me out of hand if I happened to be, oh, I don't know, Jooooooooooish. One thing about the Amish, they kinda like Jews. But I know somebody who doesn't...

Who... Murray Sabrin? Jewish son of two Holocaust survivors, former GOP Senate candidate in New Jersey, and one of Ron Paul's best friends?

No, wait, he loves Jews just fine -- seeing as he is one.

Incidentally, Senator Jim Bunning just endorsed Rand Paul over Trey Grayson.
Seeing that you're just a non-Christian troll with a dishonest Screen Name, it's nice to know that everything is falling apart for your team.

Hah, hah, hah. :-)

he wants the states to have more say in a lot of these issues."

I realize that you don't get the sublime irony of the nick "AmishDude" and that your brain cannot wrap itself around the intentional notion of that irony.

It's subtle and takes an IQ of at least 70 to grasp. Also, my nick is around since well before Axelrod started his machinations. It was a simpler time.

I am well aware of the Bunning endorsement. But you must be mistaken if you think that I have any brief for Grayson himself.

I know who Ron Paul is. I know who his friends are. I know what they represent and I know what animates them. I know people see things in him that he isn't.

As to Murray Sabrin. You are correct about his background and he might be Ron Paul's best friend, but Barack Obama is his BFF:

As a son of Holocaust survivors I was very disturbed at Senator Joe Lieberman’s disingenuous attack on Senator Barack Obama’s foreign policy over the weekend. As the front-runner to run for the U.S. Senate from New Jersey I felt compelled to publicly comment about my disagreement.... In Liberty, Murray [May 13, 2008]

It's really funny how animated people who are only motivated by liberty and free-spending get over foreign policy. And how people who run for the Republican/Libertarian ticket so eagerly and reflexively defend Democrats. Of all of the things he could have chosen to make a comment on, he chose this.

I fully anticipate that Rand Paul will have a Dr. Strangelove/Debra Medina moment. If it happens before the general election, we will lose the seat. If it happens after it, we will be forced to endure the clown for 6 years.

Unlike you, I’m not working for a campaign here. I just think it’s a very sad situation that the Paultards are infiltrating. They keep finding a way in by telling people what they want to hear.

The Paulestinians love to tar their opponents and are eager to shout “IMPURE” to anyone who they can tar with a brush of being non-conservative even though they will eagerly accept the endorsements of Armey (amnesty) or Murray Sabrin (defender of Democrats).

I guess Axelrod only authorizes one response per hour, huh?

I think the proper fable is the scorpion and the turtle.

“It is in my nature,” Rand Paul said, after sinking his stinger deep into the turtle.
