Democrat Rep. Alan Grayson of Florida has been called out for lying about the circumstances of his crashing a local Republican meeting last week.
Grayson was videotaped disrupting a meeting of Orange County, Florida, Republicans at a Perkins restaurant.
The Orlando Sentinel reported on April 9 about the incident and what Grayson said about it:
In the video, Grayson reads from a flier that describes a recent Republican infiltration of a pro-Obama group, and a promise to dish those details at this next GOP meeting. Grayson chides the Republican attendees for sinking so low as to spy on the other side.
Today, Grayson said he was attending a community home owners association meeting in another part of the restaurant that night, and decided to share his displeasure with the contents of the flier with the GOP party members.
Thats political dirty tricks, Grayson said today. I went over to find out what their side of the story was, and whether they approved of that.
Last night, Fox 35 in Orlando reported the organizer of the homeowner's association meeting that Grayson claims he was attending said that Grayson was not invited to the meeting and that Grayson had stormed into the meeting screaming.
"He came in, starting to holler in a somewhat agitated mood, said Kevin Rogers of the Emerald Forest HOA. We asked him what he was talking about. He repeated it and we said, We think you have the wrong meeting.
SNIP
After the story took off on Friday, Graysons camp said he was at the Perkins to meet with the HOA, something Rogers disputes.
"He didn't come to our meeting, as Ive seen reported in other places.
After the confrontation, Grayson was invited to sit in with the HOA meeting, which he did. We pressed a spokesperson for Grayson to clarify whether the congressman intentionally went to Perkins to disrupt the meeting of Republicans, or if he was there to attend the HOA gathering.
"The timing is inconsequential, said Todd Jurkowski. The congressman highlighted the fact that Republicans were boasting about using new ways to deceive people. He also got to spend time with homeowners he represents."
After Grayson returned to the HOA meeting, Rogers asked him if he felt his behavior was polarizing or divisive. His answer to me was, essentially he was very well known, and he liked the fact he's very well known. If that adds to the fact of him being popular, so much the better."
Yes, Orlando, your Congressman is nuts.
.
Is it true this guy was once on a 5150 hold?
He needs a drug test. and a breathilizer.
meltdown. liberal’s going bonkers. they’re certifiable.
Click on the Fox link with an interview with the HOA president.
This guy has Grayson pegged.
Liberalism IS a mental disease.
Only the military and hard working civilians deserve to be drug tested. Everyone on the public dole (Kongris included) should be allowed to do all the drugs they want.
Besides drug addictions make it easier to get you addicted to public monies and government control.
Don’t tell me! Alan Grayson, the good buddy of Ron Paul? Oh, the horror!
So he was "outraged" over the Leftists' AND MSM's tactics in 2004 in Floriduh then, right?
Rolling Stone: Bush Like Me - Ten weeks undercover in the grass roots of the Republican Party (Posted Oct 06, 2004 By MATT TAIBBI)
I never felt any longing to go to Orlando, Florida. What I felt, in traveling south to volunteer for the campaign of George W. Bush, was an obligation. Let me explain by first saying something about the critics of our president. A great many of them like to laugh at George Bush for not reading books and for being uninterested in visiting other countries. But a lot of those same people are guilty of the opposite offense. They prefer to read books and travel abroad rather than actually getting to know their own country face to face. These critics do a terrific job of mocking his mental deficiencies and dismissing his supporters as hapless morons, but they do not do a very good job of explaining the nature of his support. The few dissident commentators who bother trying to explain the Bush phenomenon seldom do more than reach for the nearest Marx-inspired academic cliche. They will tell you, for instance, that Republicans are a vast intellectual underclass cynically manipulated by the rich through a mesmerizing cocktail of yahoo enthusiasms, xenophobic fears and ancient superstitions -- and those same people will insist, if forced to offer an opinion on the subject, that one should feel sorry for most of them.
This is the wrong approach. As a professional misanthrope, I believe that if you are going to hate a person, you ought to do it properly. You should go and live in his shoes for a while and see at the end of it how much you hate yourself.
This was what I was doing down in Florida. The real challenge wasn't just trying to understand these Republicans. It was to become the best Republican I could be.
Republicans are everywhere, but everywhere is not a good place to look for them. For my purposes I wanted to try to catch them in their ideal habitat. That was why I chose Orlando. For me, it is hell on earth, the worst city on the planet, a place that would make me long for Kinshasa or Volokolamsk. But for Republicans, it is ideal: a scorching-hot paved inland archipelago of garish shopping malls and stadium-size steel-and-glass Baptist churches, a place with no nonhuman life apart from the caged animals at the theme parks, and an entire economy organized around monstrous temples to fake experience...
D’oh, he crashed the WRONG meeting the first time! Stupid HOA invited him to stay (hm, wonder if HE initiated that too by just sitting down with them).
Florida, PLEASE vote this clown OUT. He has some nerve to talk after liberals that HE supports have been infiltrating TEA party meetings, etc. and plan to cause trouble on Thursday! HYPOCRITE.
Grayson’s spokesperson’s name is Todd Jurkowski???

Good post.
Someone on another thread posted the link. I just pulled out the excerpt and reposted it.

"The timing is inconsequential, said Todd Jurkowski.
Alright Todd, and the pinwheel is made of tofu.
Now, that we've both dispensed with nonsensical answers the questions still remains: Did Grayson storm the Perkins to disrupt the meeting of republicans, or to befuddle a HOA? The question is of intent, not timing. What a weasely jackass.
You drew me in and I went to read your old Rolling Stone link. Wish I hadn’t now, but I did. But the gem of the piece is the same thing that’s always apparent.
Grayson, Taibbi, the First Lady, etc. - dripping with condescension from their chins, they think they are all smarter than all of us. They want to tell us what to do. And since our lives are in general are better than theirs, they have to tell us to do the opposite of what we know we should do. Even though we and they already know that what we do is right.
They LIE because to them its a Means / Ends issue.
Get their objectives by any means necessary, truthfulness is not a luxury that the Politics of the Left can afford.
I’m still wondering why nobody in that meeting kicked his ass and tossed him out.
