Army chiefs face the nightmare prospect of having to consider their soldiers' childcare problems before giving them orders. The devastating blow follows a successful sex discrimination claim brought by a single mother. Tilern DeBique, 28, says she was forced to leave the Army because she was expected to be available for duty around the clock. She was formally disciplined when she failed to appear on parade because she had to look after her daughter.
She was told the Army was a 'war-fighting machine' and 'unsuitable for a single mother who couldn't sort out her childcare arrangements'.

She was told the Army was a 'war-fighting machine' and 'unsuitable for a single mother who couldn't sort out her childcare arrangements'. Would it have been acceptable if they had said, "The Army is a war-fighting machine and unsuitable for a single parent who can't sort out childcare arrangements"? Or did they have to say, "The Army is a social service club and is flexible enough to make allowances for a participant or stakeholder with higher priorities"?

Sat. morning War movie;
“I say, Trevor, could you take a couple of bangalores over and wipe out that nest? It’s mowing down our whole bloody flank.”
“Dreadfully sorry, Jeffrey, but I’ve two lads at home who are counting on Daddy to come back from this war. Perhaps Nigel could do it?”

Now she is in line for a payout of at least £100,000 for loss of earnings, injury to feelings and aggravated damages......
Miss DeBique also won a claim of race discrimination because Army chiefs did not let her bring her half-sister from the Caribbean to look after the child.

First the women of the last couple of decades boo hooed to be in the military equal to men....when they find out its hard work and a 24 hour a day job, they want out.....its not just this country that has politically correct military, these females give women a bad name..and so forth with police and firemen. I sure don't want to depend one some 110 pound female firefighter that got the job via gender norming to carry me 2 stories out of a burning building....politics without common sense is deadly..

Time to put a bullet in that country’s head and be done with it. They are way past finished.

Considering he was Chinese, he would likely be happy about it since his country was colonized by the Brits. I wonder what the Chinese politboro is saying, likely they are happy about this.

What is the problem with this? It is like a guy joins the Army for the education benefits, and then howls when he is ordered to deploy overseas, because he did not sign up to fight in a war!

Back in the 50’s our reasoning was “If the Navy wanted you to have a wife she would have been in your seabag”
