The gathering of rowdy teens on the Country Club Plaza Saturday evening was planned and not a random event, Kansas City police said this morning.
Students from different high schools throughout the area had been using Twitter and Facebook to plan an unruly gathering last week, said Officer Darin Snapp, a police spokesman.
Unfortunately there were people who knew about it but didnt call us until after it was over, Snapp said.
( More from Bob Cronkleton: Police Chief Jim Corwin is expected to be briefed about the gathering that attracted large crowds totaling an estimated 500 to 1,000 people to various spots in the shopping district.
Police used pepper spray to break up disturbances.
More information about what occurred Saturday evening is expected to be released later today.

Many of us are prepared. You are 100% dead on... it will happen.

Unfortunately, I guess we need to be alert and prepared for the necessity of evolving them into "flash stack of dead guys".
The idea works two ways. Just think of neighborhoods being protected by the same methods. Use their ideas against them.

An “unruly gathering”.
Oh, thank goodness they didn’t plan a riot
Hopefully, we'll see a little muzzle flash home defence then.

The end of civilization until public canings are legal again.
Have you even been to the Plaza?
No, only drove through Kansas City once — and was glad to get out. I feel the same way about Denver — in spite of there being “good” places down there. I plead guilty to tarring all Democrat big cities with the same prejudiced brush.
The Plaza is the Rodeo Drive of KC. Beautiful outside shopping plaza, very expensive stores, boutiques, restaurants, etc. It’s a beautiful area surrounded by expensive homes, apartments, condos, etc. There’s always been yutes coming in and stirring up trouble. Such a shame but it’s never stopped, to my knowledge, anyone from frequenting the area. I’ve never even heard anyone discuss it unless it’s in the paper or on the news.
home invasions have to be dealt with swiftly and severely
You got that right.
