A bombing incident at a U.S. consulate in Mexico received very little news media attention and absolutely no response from President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or Attorney General Eric Holder.
An explosion occurred at the U.S. consulate in Nuevo Laredo in Mexico on Saturday morning. A small bomb was thrown over the wall of the consulate but there were no casualties reported by U.S. or Mexican authorities.
The attack in the Mexican border city was the latest alleged attack by Mexican drug gangs who are targeting the U.S. due to American law enforcement assisting Mexican President Felipe Calderon’s attack on Mexican cartels.
According to one law enforcement official, Mexican police investigators are reviewing videotapes from security cameras throughout the consulate in hopes of identifying a suspect or suspects involved in the bombing incident.
The U.S. State Department ordered the closing of its consulates in Nuevo Laredo and Coahuila.
This bombing was the second attack on the U.S. consulates and consulate staff in Mexico within one month. Three people working at the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez were killed by gun fire on March 13.
Law enforcement experts believe the Mexican drug cartels are retaliating against U.S. interests due to the large number of cases in which drug kingpins and their minions are being extradited to the U.S. to stand trial.

Are we talking about an M-80 firecracker (legal in Mexico, and quite common and very loud) or a couple sticks of dynamite? Just because it goes ‘boom’ doesn’t mean its a bomb.
While I have no doubt that the Mexican drug cartel is taking action against the US, there is a difference between a 16yr old pulling a prank, and a bombing attack.
In many cases, the criminals are cowards - preying on the helpless, who fear the police. Due to cowardice, corruption and apathy by the Mexican people - the criminals have decided to become more bold. Now, because of the general laziness of the Mexican people - there will needs be a war for these people to take their neighborhoods back and restore peace. Unfortunately, the Mexicans are cowards - and would rather simply flee and spread the misery; instead of fixing the problem they allowed to grow.
Hmmm, I wonder what country will embrace a people who are too lazy to learn from their mistakes, who have little or no education, who are willing to live like animals and allow, or force their kids to join gangs?
The drug cartel is a defacto enemy of the US. They are getting bolder every day because they sense weakness in dc. The feds are willing to send border patrol agents to federal prison for 10+ years. (Ramos and Compeon) We now have enemies on both sides. Stick together guys. This aint going to get cleaned up for a while.

Just harmless kids tossing firecrackers and of course these two events are not related.
Due to the pathetic reporting, there are questions that should have been answered .... that aren’t. Was there any damage? Was it dry ice in a Mt. Dew plastic bottle? Was it an M-80? Couple sticks of dynamite? 2 lbs of C4?
There is so much missing from this story, that it’s bordering on pathetic. All we know is that something went ‘boom’, ‘snap’ or ‘pop’. Was it a 65 Chevy backfiring? Someone knows what it was, someone knows if there is a crater in the yard, a hole in the wall, a blown up tree - ... but the journalist is apparently too lazy to answer these really basic questions. So, I ask them.
Are they related? I don’t know, and I dare say that neither do you. With this quality of reporting, we’ll never be able to make a connection. Pathetic reporting.

Bomb a few Consulates, see what they do...if nothing, open season.
Pretty obvious that between dead Consular staff, dead ranchers, timid response to bombings, it'll be the "open season on Americans" choice
I agree, you have it 100% correct. First, you test the boundaries; to see what the American resolve is. Once you have a measure of the resolve, you can push to that limit, and start eroding the resolve to the next retreat.
Back in the day, the American response would be “Hey, Calderon - you either take care of this ... Or we will, and you ain’t gonna like the way we take care of it”.
But, today we are led by a group of scared little girls, who are afraid that someone in the world won’t like them anymore. And that statement of ‘little girls’ extends across party lines.
That place is turning into Beirut in the 80s.
Eventually you’re going to see something happen.
