The MS-13 gang may have issued a hit on the NYPD, police sources said Saturday.
The tip came last week from a cab driver in Brooklyn, whose hack friend overheard a gang member talk about a murder contract on police from the driver's back seat, sources said.
The cabbie told cops the thug spoke about the group killing an officer in every command, sources said.
"We're investigating the report based on an overheard conversation," said NYPD spokesman Sgt. Kevin Hayes. "At this time, there's nothing to indicate there's a city-wide threat."
But sources said Gang Unit cops are pushing informants to gather more intel on the threat, and are taking the tip seriously.
"We're careful around these guys anyway," a source said.

Anytime cops are targeted, it’s bad. They put their lives on the line every day.
New York needs to take a lesson from Skidmore, MO.
Why are they even in this country? Round them up and ship them back to where they came from.
NYC cops disarm decent citizens as a matter of routine, people who carry out unconstitutional laws are no friends of mine, or of the USA. If tyrants can’t find anyone to carry out their edicts they can’t do much but the NYPD is right in there working for them!

IMHO, they should be labeled for what they are and seek to become. They seek to be an enemy of the US as an organized state with consulates in other nations without bilateral representation.
Congress should declare war on MS-13, then the executive branch is free to imprison any MS-13 gang member found as enemies of the US. If found operating in the US, then charge them with treason. If found guilty as MS-13 members, then condemn them to capital punishment to be executed immediately with extreme prejudice.

In a sane world absolutely. This Administration, however, can't even bring itself to refer to terrorists as such what makes you think it will take a hard line against a bunch of illegal gangbangers.
