Richard Dawkins: I Will Arrest Pope Benedict XVI

April 11, 2010 Richard Dawkins: I Will Arrest Pope Benedict XVI Marc Horne

Atheist campaigner Richard Dawkins RICHARD DAWKINS, the atheist campaigner, is planning a legal ambush to have the Pope arrested during his state visit to Britain “for crimes against humanity”.

Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, the atheist author, have asked human rights lawyers to produce a case for charging Pope Benedict XVI over his alleged cover-up of sexual abuse in the Catholic church.

The pair believe they can exploit the same legal principle used to arrest Augusto Pinochet, the late Chilean dictator, when he visited Britain in 1998.

The Pope was embroiled in new controversy this weekend over a letter he signed arguing that the “good of the universal church” should be considered against the defrocking of an American priest who committed sex offences against two boys. It was dated 1985, when he was in charge of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which deals with sex abuse cases.

Tenty got banned.

I would not trust his (her?) word that his/her parish had two “dangerous” pedophiles, either.

Two?? And what kind of pedophile is “non-dangerous”?

Kind of like a “hot” fire? Or “wet” water?

Tenty was on my radar for a while but I forget to watch out for them. I’ll start a list on my desktop so I remember to watch out. It’s so satisfying to see that light purple screen.

As the UN and other superstate powers get stronger, they will start to force their will on other states.

Yes, and they are fast on the move to do just that. With Bo at the helm and no desire for the US to retain it's sovereignty or take a stand on the international stage, as has been formerly customary for our Pres's, well, these monetary and power hungry thugocracies are fast on the move while the door is wide open to do so. The speed this is moving is so fast that the news cannot know or keep up with it...not to mention much is also being done behind closed doors...they really do not want it known until it can presented in a touchy feeley way. Similar to the popes recent announcement. Frightening times we are in and I don't see this going away anytime soon.

What's hard to figure is why nobody thought going to the police was a good idea, or am I wrong and most crimes were reported?

Someone posted a chart showing over the years the reports of this crime within the catholic church. I asked of these numbers how many if any were reported and jail time served for this crime?...only one poster replied and apparently he knew of only a couple......out of hundreds reported. I still do not have any figures but it would be interesting to see if or not these crimes were prosecuted. My take is very few were until I see evidence otherwise.

The Archbishops should have taken care of this problem.

So because they didn't what would the catholic church do regarding the bishops or archbishops? Would the police be contacted and prosecutions be in the pipeline?

The Queen will never allow it, as it would pit The Church of England against The Roman Catholic Church.

Now that's a laugh. The Queen couldn't instruct her own sons, daughter and sister to keep it zipped. The Queen countenanced her son's mistress and failed to instruct him how to keep his wife happy. The Queen couldn't keep her ex-daughter-in-law from dating a muslim. The Queen's heir apparent has said he does not want to be "Defender of the Faith" when he is king; rather, "Defender of Faiths." Example of his "creative" vision, as he helps break ground for a mosque:

Then there's the millions of Catholic faithful who actively defend the Pope and run interference for him. Shouldn't something be done about them, also? I believe so. I think some sort of "re-education" programs are in order for Catholics. Compulsory, re-education. Failure to comply will result in heavy fines, confiscation of property and/or imprisonment.

That's already been tried: Ireland.

The original post reminds me of the Pope Malachi Prophesies. Isn’t Pope Benedict supposed to be the last, and is supposed to be run out of “office” and into hiding or something...

I may have that remembered wrong. It’s just the first thing that came to my mind...

Heavy lifting or not, the Chinese, to a large extent, remain non-Muslim.

There is a sense in which the Chinese's non-Christianness better equips them to resist such an aggressive infiltrator. Christians are often hobbled by their call to tolerate and love their neighbor. They must be reminded what a serpent is and how to recognize one when they see one.
