But I never carry because I work on a military base where contractors aren't allowed to bring guns and I'm on call 24/7.
So if I'm out running errands and get called in to work I can't stop and drop my pistol off at home - I have to immediately go in to work.
I HATE this! I'm blessed with a job that I enjoy with good pay and decent benefits but I can't carry my pistol onto a military base.

Have you read the actual regulations? Every post can be different because it is up to the base commander to decide. At Yuma Proving Ground, the gun has to be in a locked container that is attached to the car.
Other places allow you to register the gun on post, and then you can have it in your car at work.
Sometimes you can work with JAG to make an unreasonable policy a little better, perhaps by pointing out that people would like to go hunting or target shooting after work and need to store their guns securely in their vehicle...
If you have a shooter for a Commander or post Sargent Major, it can happen...
I suppose you have to walk through metal detectors? My brother started carrying his into the shop he works at after it was sold to Muslim Pakistanis (sp). All this in fly-over country...what a wonderful world /s
Get a vehicle lock safe and have it hide installed in your car. Carry it there. If you need it, yiu will have it.
Yes I know, but no one will know if you do not tell ANYONE.
And a search would never reveal it , unless its a warranted search.
I know a guy that got fired because his personal enemies ratted him out. If you are the carry type, tell no one. This was in 1990 at an AFS.
