You haven’t been reading the thread. Both Ron Paul and to a large extent Romney BOUGHT their votes. Neither one of them appeared at the conference — probably because they didn’t want their speech and attendance compared with Sarah (a good decision given her reception and the excitement she generated with her speech and personally).
Don’t be like the media and try to read anything into it other than he who buys the most votes wins (remember ACORN in the real world).

We need to start looking at SERIOUS 2012 candidates! SERIOUSLY - MITT ROMNEY had BETTER NOT BE THE ANSWER!
Hayley BARBOUR is my first choice! SMART, CONSERVATIVE GOVERNOR who KNOWS HOW TO PRODUCTIVELY GET THINGS DONES and DOESN’T SPEND HIS WAY OUT OF PROBLEMS!

A couple of speakers who impressed me were Mike Pence and Rick Perry.
I've always enjoyed listening to what both have to say, and Pence has always impressed me. I would love to see him get more consideration from people.
Straw polls and punditry like this mirror why I haven't listed to FM radio for over five years now: it feels like it is always the same five or six damn songs, when you know there is a lot more interesting stuff out there that doesn't get airplay. Same with these articles: Palin, Romney, Paul, Gingrich, Huckabee. This is the same playlist we heard in 2007 (with the exception of Sarah)! How about broadening the playlist? A little Pence, a little Paul Ryan and some people we've not thought about yet?
Your tagline rocks, by the way.

“...the voters are morons.”
The current occupant in the oval office is proof of that.

I just loved this......LOL
In the technical sense, in the economic definition, he is not a socialist, the Texas Republican said to a smattering of applause at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference.
Hes a corporatist, Paul quickly added, meaning the president takes care of corporations and corporations take over and run the country.

He trys to be too bi-partisan at times.Bi-partisan?! That's putting it mildly. He'd be a RINO in the White House; always cutting deals and making nice with the DemonRATS. Heck, he does that now with some of his positions and getting up close and friendly with them, like Hillary. He likes being in the spotlight, and would do whatever he could to appear like a nice guy, to our everlasting detriment.

What's with all this mass buying of tickets for [Ron Paul's] fanatics to stuff the ballet ever single time? The clown never even won a single primary in the GOP primaries in 2008, yet he just keeps stuffing the ballots at these conventions anyways. Ron Paul is determined to play Pat Buchanan's role in this decade.
