Yeah, I saw that on FOX channel. I think it laughable to conceive that Mitt Romney has more support than Sarah Palin, and gut-busting laughable that so does Ron Paul. Of course, FOX also said that the majority of Republicans present were Romney supporters. That does not explain, however, how Ron Paul can still beat out Sarah Palin.

I always hate to point the finger and make the accusation, but I don't think in this case there is even a need to do it. Some certain southerners (not even most or all) are probably not as comfortable with the idea of putting a woman in the Presidential seat, and that group of stubborn patriarchs is probably more politically active as this group proved to be. How else could Ron Paul beat out Palin in this irrelevant straw poll?

Ironically, Romney is their first choice, when Sarah Palin is far more conservative than Romney. So, maybe it isn't about who is going to best represent conservative values, but about who they think should and should not represent conservative values.

Put more bluntly, Romney is not a true conservative and Ron Paul is not even electable, but this straw poll does not accurately reflect the majority of conservatives any more than it counts the entire South as unwilling to cast votes for Sarah Palin.

The college kiddies would go for the Neo Leftist Ron Paul as he is anti war, has said Iran and North Korea are not a threat. We are Imperial America and most supporters and money people are 9/11 Truthers

You know that you're perverting the truth. And to say he's a neo-leftist is like saying Obama is moderate. Ron Paul is far to the right of any candidate out there and has actually lived out his principles - so much so that he's known as "Dr. No" by his fellow congressmen for voting with the constitution with all of the big government bills that so-called conservatives vote yes on.

But, like I said: he's probably not going to run. He'll be 77 by then and he's probably going to retire soon and go back to being an OB/GYN physician doing what he loves - delivering babies.

"Why don't post my whole sentence instead of trying to cut it up out of context which required more effort than just posting the whole sentence. Here's what I really wrote:

Because the point I was trying to make was in response to that part of what you posted, that is why I put ..... after "Paul" indicating that I left out context. It's as easy as a click to trace back to see what you had posted if the reader was interested.

With Sarah and Newt not buying votes, the poll does illustrate who the establishment (It’s His Turn) candidate will be, Not Romney, but Newt.

Except, in the real world, Newt's DOA. What is missing from this vote entirely is the establishment picking another candidate so they have picked Newt as a not-Palin vote, like a bridge bid in a suit that means one thing and not that that suit is going to play at all.

Mostly, the establishment isn't going to commit to Sarah Palin until after the 2010 election if then. If they did, they would be anointing her the defacto leader of the entire Republican party. They are not ready for this just yet.

Yep. I have mixed feelings on Newt, but he is a great asset to our party in many ways. I just don’t want him as President. He trys to be too bi-partisan at times.

Think of how much fun it would be to lock some Paulbots and some Mittbots in a room together and just watch.

I'd pay to be a spectator.

Yea..and she didn’t bus in a single person!

I figure you deduct those Mitt and Paul bussed in then Sarah likely surpassed the whole crew! Makes you wonder what the vote would have been the day she spoke...it would have been a slam dunk!

In 2012 would you vote for a senator with little political experience who had only spent 150 days in national office before running for President?

An outsider, or at least somebody that's only been corrupted by Washington for only a few months? Absolutely. That's why I'd punch the ticket for Palin if she was nominated. I'm tired of the established folks like Romney that just recently "turned conservative."

Ron Paul within ONE SINGLE VOTE?! Good news for Constitutionalism today. That’s two major straw polls in a row that Ron Paul has either won or came in within a single vote.

What a joke...!

Paul, Romney backers stacking straw poll deck

Evangelicals for Romney lowering expectations for SRLC straw poll

Is This How Straw Polls are won? (Mitt folks buying votes?) [As are the Paultards]

The only surprise here is Gingrich, unless he secretly stuffed the ballot too like Romney and Ron Paul did, even though I doubt it. As for Ron Paul, hey, get get a life. What's with all this mass buying of tickets for his fanatics to stuff the ballet ever single time? The clown never even won a single primary in the GOP primaries in 2008, yet he just keeps stuffing the ballots at these conventions anyways.
All this gaming of the system reminds me of 0bozo's Chicago style tactics against Hilary Clinton during the Democratic Party primaries in 2008.

Newt can make everybody in the room look stupid, and he does it in a manner that is off-putting. He is a professor and it shows. Newt can’t attract a large following and that translates into campaign donations. I hope he enters the race. He’ll make all the other candidates work harder.

“People need to wake up to the fact that Ron Paul is a force for liberty that, for the first time since Reagan in GOP politics, has a young, collegiate following as well as an old one. The good news for big government GOP’ers is that he probably won’t run so that his son can in a few years.”

Sure now explain his 82% lifetime conservative voting average? and supporting lefties like Nader.

I haven't heard Paul much (deliberately ;), but I don't think I'd want to be on the wrong end of a temper tantrum he was having.

I hope he doesn't have spies to find out who didn't vote. They could be in BIG trouble!

— Bought —— Votes

Paul -— 800 —— 438
Romney — 400 —— 439
Palin -— 000 —— 330
Gingrich — 000 —— 321

Do the math. Romney got 39 votes that weren’t bought. Paul bought votes for people who voted for others, so he really got NO votes. Palin won with 330 non-purchased votes and Gingrich has established himself as the establishment candidate who is next in line.
