Ron Paul: Barack Obama is Not a Socialist
NEW ORLEANSRepublicans and tea party activists are fond of accusing President Barack Obama of being a socialist, but today party gadfly Ron Paul said they had it wrong.
In the technical sense, in the economic definition, he is not a socialist, the Texas Republican said to a smattering of applause at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference.
Hes a corporatist, Paul quickly added, meaning the president takes care of corporations and corporations take over and run the country.

When you are raised by socialists and communists, when you surround yourself with socialists and communists, when all your advisors are socialists and communists...........are they trying to say none of that rubbed off? If Ron Paul believes that, I can find a bridge some place to sell him.
Yep.
Proving once again that RonPaul is not a conservative, and he’s messing things up for the real ones, for his own glory.
Yeah, but what did FACTS and TRUTH ever get us?
Hazy political mumbling, appeal to ignorance, and government approved newspeak are just so much more fun!

George Bush couldnt privatize Social Security because of liberal opposition, but liberal resistance to a health care bill authored by the insurance companies was effectively neutralized by a call to Democratic party loyalty. Anyone making a consistent values argument, who didnt immediately fall in line and support the passage of a neoliberal health care bill, was helping the Republicans as if Republican opposition to the bill wasnt the very thing that gave progressives negotiating power in the first place.
The imposter president is a "corporatist" if he "takes care" of corporations but a Socialist if he "takes over" corporations. Effectively the same if the government controls the corporation. Splitting hairs here. Then you've got a "Corporate Socialist. So what? Its unconstitutional government take over whichever way you cut it.
Was it a short bus?
CA....
God help us all. Is this guy in nutland?
Ron Paul is Anti-Corporate Welfare.
Surely you don't believe that Corporate Welfare is essential to free-market Capitalism.
Um... do you? (Economics 101 education needed for "SmartInsight", stat!)
I don’t think 0bama hates corporations. Without them what would he build his National Socialist Trade Unions on?
He’s a Progressiveist Stateist, in other words he Fracking Socialist to the enth degree! You Ron Paul are a numbskull.
Ron Paul (who I do not support) was splitting hairs. I take his point that corporations will be extraordinarily beholding to Obama in order to survive. In other words, the rich folks will all be controlled by Capitol Hill. Is that socialism? Sounds more like fascism to me.
Obama is a Chicago Gangster.
You need to have an ideal (a philosophical idea of trueness of form) to be a socialist or a Marxist or a fascist.
Obama will do whatever it takes.
Actually, now that I think about it, it's kinda smart politics on Ron Paul's part.
Using the old 1920's term term "Corporatist" to describe Obama's brand of Progressive Fascism, is calculated to undermine Obama's support on the Left -- since Leftists hear "Corporate" and automatically think, "Oooooh, Corporate = Bad and Evil!"
It's taking advantage of your opponents' own knee-jerk, pavlovian responses. Not a bad idea, really.
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.. That’s funny, Al Sharpton, Howard Dean and Joe Biden say different...
READ and pay attention to what Paul himself said:
“corporations take over and run the country”
This is a populist scare tactic against corporations. Obama probably agrees with Ron Paul’s statement.
Frankly, as just ONE example, there really is a huge problem with Democrats in high office revolving between Goldman Sachs, and Federal Reserve/Treasury offices which are able to arrange "sweetheart deals" for Goldman Sachs.
If you aren't aware of this blatant Cronyism, I don't think that you've been paying attention to Obama's cabinet.
