WASHINGTON President Barack Obama quietly breached years of protocol on Saturday morning by leaving the White House without the press with him.

Gee, if I was the leader of the greatest country on earth and needed to meet privately with someone about something secret, I would dodge the press too.... even if it was the Huffington Post.
Heehee, my first thought too.
Lovers quarrel...
Me too.
Michelle kicked him out on the couch. He found an intern who would give him a bed and a place to sleep.
I suppose he was going on the down-low and didn’t want anyone with a tape recorder or a camera?
I believe, however, plenty of Blackwater, Halliburton, and/or ex-military would do it in compensation for only expenses.
HF
Can’t be true. But I wouldn’t put it past the Commie House to try this stunt.
Good one...
“I just saw a report from a Miami Freeper who heard on an ABC radio news station that the WH has told GW and Laura Bush that they may not attend the Polish Presidents funeral and that no Secret Service will be provided for them if they go on their own. Anybody know if this is true?”
Boy I hope you are wrong because that would be VERY LOW if true..Let n\me know when you find out. Thanks
Pray for God's protection of George W. and Laura Bush.
Assuming the destination was correctly reported, I can understand why a dad would want to leave the jackals behind. But the charade to put them in a van and get there in time to turn around, what the heck was that?
Or going to a location to speak to his buddy Ahmadinejad?
The Polish disaster ... was it a direct threat to Israel?
I find the timing of *Obama’s need for secrecy* extremely SUSPECT!!!!!!
“Israel ‘horrified’ by the loss of a ‘true friend’ in Poland”
“Jerusalem - Israeli President Shimon Peres expressed his condolences to Poland on Saturday and said Israel was “horrified” by the tragic death of the Polish President Lech Kaczynski in a plane crash.
“The death of my friend, President Lech Kaczynski, as well as the death of his wife Maria and other senior officials in Poland’s leadership, shocks and pains us,” Peres said.
“Israel bows its head and grieves with you (the Polish people) over this loss,” the Israeli president added.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also sent his condolences, remembering Kaczynski was a leader who advanced relations between Poland and Israel. “President Kaczynski led the opening of a new page in the relations of the Jewish and Polish nations,” Netanyahu said.
“I knew President Kaczynski as a Polish patriot, a great friend to Israel and as a leader who worked for the good of his people and for the advancement of peace and prosperity in the world,” he added.
Foreign Affairs Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Kaczynski was a “true friend of the State of Israel.”
“He proved this through his actions and positions, as well as through his important role in creating good strategic relations between Israel and Poland.”
Defence Minister Ehud Barak expressed “deep sorrow”, saying, “His death is a great loss to his nation and the entire world.”
Israel has always appreciated the support of Kaczynski, who had close ties with Israel at times when other European countries showed hostility.
After being elected president in 2005, Kaczynski said former Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon was his “hero”, Yossi Levi, a former deputy ambassador to Warsaw told the Israeli press.”

Holy crap. Can the WH deny Secret Service protection to an ex-president just because they dont like where he is going?

If I’m not mistaken, all former Presidents have their own Secret Service Detail for life.
Clinton had no need to escape the press corp. He did his dirty deeds right there in the White House.
Wow, if Bush would have done this he'd be done. There would be all kinds of theories plastered everywhere about what mischievousness he was doing.
