WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama quietly breached years of protocol on Saturday morning by leaving the White House without the press with him.

I just saw a report from a Miami Freeper who heard on an ABC radio news station that the WH has told GW and Laura Bush that they may not attend the Polish President’s funeral and that no Secret Service will be provided for them if they go on their own. Anybody know if this is true?

Many in the press probably have the same doubts. Doing 'covert' stuff like this will generate some paychecks for news divisions to park someone outside the gates 24/7 (like paparazzi)
