March 2010 -- Although Jimmy Wales, the public figurehead of Wikipedia, tries to give the world the impression that his website is an independent entity, the reality is that the Wikimedia Foundation, of which Wikipedia is a project, is directly dependent upon support from super-wealthy benefactors with connections to the pharmaceutical investment business.
One of the most notable of the Wikimedia Foundations supporters is the so-called Open Society Institute, founded by the chairman of Soros Fund Management LLC, George Soros.
Links between George Soros, the Wikimedia Foundation and the drug industry
George Soros is a Hungarian-born currency speculator and multi-billion dollar stock market wheeler-dealer who has been convicted of insider trading in France. Accused in court by the Dr. Rath Foundation of having funded the ARV drug-promoting Treatment Action Campaign to the tune of 1.4 million South African Rand, Soros has invested heavily in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors over the years, buying large holdings in companies such as Pfizer, Merck and Monsanto.
Significantly, therefore, Melissa Hagemann, Senior Program Manager of the Soros Open Society Institutes Information Program, currently sits on the advisory board of the Wikimedia Foundation, which operates Wikipedia. Hagemann has also worked with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation an organization that, like Soros, has previously invested heavily in the drug industry and, according to the Los Angeles Times, reaps vast financial gains every year from investments that contravene its claims to good works.
Similarly, Ethan Zuckerman, a member of the Wikimedia advisory board since its formation in January 2007, simultaneously sits on a funding board for the Information Program of the Soros Open Society Institute.

Get all the kids to use it. Then use it to indoctrinate them. A little newspeak on every page...
Ethan Zuckerman...Any realtion to Zuckerman at the NY Times?
So the Bush family also has connections to Soros.
It doesn’t surprise me.
That’s a damn good question.
Keep it all in the family, eh?
Reminds me of Evan Thomas of Newsweak.......... who’s grandfather was a socialist candidate for president several times. (norman mattoon thomas)
I did a quick google search, but it didn’t come up with anything though. “zuckerman” is a fairly common name isn’t it?
I missed that part. What did I miss?
If they gave Bernie 150 yrs; they should give George 350 yrs just as a start.
If the founder of Wiki is who I think it is; he is a friend of one of the biggest crooks in the dog world ever.
So the Bush family also has connections to Soros.
I have seen the video with my own eyes where Bush Sr. acknowledges the existence of a NWO.
good article....good reminder
The international pimp soros is a perverted thief. And why do our taxes subsidize those foundations? Public Broadsting should be completely dismantled.
“I missed that part. What did I miss?”
Business associates of Soros
According to the New Statesman, Soros business partners have included the Carlyle Group, where he is reported to have invested more than $100m. One of the world’s largest private equity funds, the Carlyle Group is believed to make most of its money from work as a defence contractor. At various times, its advisors and investors are said to have included the former U.S. secretary of state James Baker, former U.S. defence secretary Frank Carlucci, former U.S. president George Bush senior and even relatives of Osama Bin Laden.

The ‘maverick’ has his own ties to Soros.
Jan 25, 2008 ... Meet the open borders family: McCain, Hernandez, Soros, and the Reform Institute
[snip]Is this what McCain believes in his heart, too? No wonder he cursed the goddamned fence.
The Reform Institute is a tax-exempt, supposedly independent 501(c)(3) group, as Ed Morrissey noted two years ago, that employs Rick Davis, who also works on McCains staff as his chief political advisor, and they pay him $110,000 per year. The Reform Institute has often supported McCain, paid for events highlighting him and his agenda, presumably including campaign finance reform. The Reform Institute received $200,000 in donations from Cablevision and McCain basically tried to intervene on Cablevisions behalf by writing a letter to the FCC supporting its regulatory agenda. Morrissey noted at the time: [T]he Reform Institute helps keep McCains staff gainfully employed between campaigns, allowing McCain to do less fundraising while retaining the best of the available talent. For instance, Carl Hulse and Ann Kornblut note that Rick Davis managed McCains presidential campaign in 2000 before founding Reform Institute. Now its president, he gets over $100,000 a year from RI for consulting services. That money allows Davis to remain available for McCains future campaigns, and the funding he raises for RI gives him inroads for building support.
Yep. Which is exactly how it worked out. Davis is now McCains campaign manager.
This is just a drill: Thanks to John McCain, Free Republic will shut down tomorrow at high noon for
Free Republic ^

thanks. it will be a good day when he breathes his last...
Ahhh, see look at that.
Good eyes you have.
Every time I see something new regarding these foundations(including but not limitted to open society institute) I find something new. And every time, it’s something I don’t like.
I hope conservative bloggers at some point pick up the topic and run with it at some point. It’s all so rotten and incestuous.
Good reminders. Thanks.
the real Soros - the interview in whic he unabashedly tells us of his stinking philosophy
